I have a Lenovo ideapad S400. I think it's like 7 years old. Recently got problem starting up. No respond. So i googled a bit and do this:

1. Remove battery and power adapter connection.
2. Press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds.
3. Put back battery to laptop.
4. Power on again. Ok.

However the problem still persist after power off. I also can't power on the laptop if i removed the battery with only the power adapter connected. It should be able to power on without battery right? I have changed another power adapter to test and pretty sure it's not the power adapter problem as it works fine with another laptop.

Any idea what is going on? Battery kong? I think this battery also not ori and is a replacement i bought like 1-2 years ago. Probably not ori. sweat.gif

This seems to be a Lenovo problem

I had a Lenovo circa 2010, power circuit board also KO, cost >300 to replace, so I ended up just buying a new laptop to replace it

Did you get that RM300 quote from Lenovo? Send to IMBI to repair.

If cost that much no point...anyway, i have another laptop, don't need to buy a new one. Just wondering what could be the problem.

Nope. Didn't go to Lenovo yet since the laptop long time out of warranty. Don't need to repair urgent since don't need the laptop anyway.
