QUOTE(Ludwig. @ Sep 15 2021, 08:39 PM) for earphones, specifically in-ears - you can try out multiple ear tip sizes and materials like memory foam vs silicone and etc. usually a good ear tip will be comfortable enough to last you an entire day, but requires trial and error and maybe some customisation for headphones, over ears comfortability depends on your ear size and if your entire ear fits in the ear cup. if they do, then it shouldnt be an issue for you to last the entire day. if they dont, then hourly rests will allow you to avoid fatigue - good for your overall health to move around anyway. on ear headphones are pretty much the most uncomfortable audio medium ive ever experienced. that one i dont understand how people can last multiple hours with the clamping force Then how do u choose a good one when buy? Sure can't testing it wear for hours in the shop right haha

The weight, clamp force, pads on/over the ear, close/open type, all can cause discomfort and pain. Same as we should not continuously sitting for hours, same advice apply to headphone too.

QUOTE(PowerOfZero @ Sep 15 2021, 08:09 AM) Do u guys feel ear pain then headache after use headphone for a long duration say 4 or 5 hours? How do u solve it? Every person is different. WHen I was young 19 or 20 years old, I can listen to earphones for prolonged periods 1 hour or up to 2 hours, no problem (personally 4 to 5 hours straight is too much). But getting older going into my 30s(above 40 now) my habits have shifted to speakers. To cut the story short, I dislike the feeling of headphones clamping on my head even for a short period of say 30 minutes. I owned Beyerdynamic T1 before and sold it after several months of use as I find it uncomfortable to use due to the weight and clamping force, not so much on the sound quality. I then bought something considerably lighter and comfortable, but still I don't listen to it much as it stayed in the box most of the time. I prefer listening via speakers and am not so much of a headphone/earphone guy. Personally 4 to 5 hours is just too much. Either reduce headphone/earphone usage or listen at lower volume levels, or change to speakers. I appreciate that everyone is different and there will be many who still love to listen to headphones.

QUOTE(Ota54 @ Sep 15 2021, 08:39 PM) Try - Listening to lower music volume. - Stretch your headphone using boxes when unused so you will have less clamp force over your head. Example reduce height adjusted is less force

QUOTE(power911 @ Sep 15 2021, 10:44 PM) idk man. If you're wearing more than 1-2 hour you definitely need to rest. Ear pain can be many factors and sometimes medical. I can wear my portapros from 8.30am to 5.30pm daily at work doing video editing but I always made sure I rest like 5-10mins every 2 hours. Give it a rest. You don't want to suffocate your ears until it starts growing infection portapro rox man.
