supposedly battery still at 100% because phone not used

Bought brand new 2.4k from Switch today. Traded in SE2020, got more than I expected because of some promotion.

Anyway, is okay to leave the old phone to Switch staff? I mean, can I trust them they will wipe clean the old iphone that I traded in? I got this nagging feeling that I just did big mistake didn't do the cleanup myself or watch them reset the phone in front of me.

The staff there helped me did the data transfer inside the shop, then when finished I straight go home. Even the old iphone casing I also forgot to take with me.

Went back to the store same day, just an hour later. They already throw away the casing. So I take that he must have already wiped clean the phone because seems like they're following some kind of strict SOP.

my last exchange with the staff before leaving the store was, he asked me to double confirm if i have anything i want to save from the old phone because he's about to reset the phone. i can see he's already have some sort of RFiD sticker ready too for the phone possibly for inventory. would be nice if he ask me to stay to supervise the resetting process.

mistake on my end too because i was too nervous at that time. first time spending this much for a phone.

Pretty good with 13 mini. Got option to add face mask and glasses. Touch id and fingerprint never worked on me.

They have replied. Gave me some photos of the phone and hello screen and said all data has been wiped. Seems like the phone is set to be recycled I think. Didnt say my data is safe not compromised, just assurance that phone is now reset already. Oh well, dont think the staff would do any shady things since the shop is busy with customers.

The paint around the camera lens is easy to get chipped?

I just chipped mine using just my nail. Saw some dust and lint near the camera lens, try to clean it, then I found that the paint gone.

i mean, what kind of material does apple use for the camera outer ring thingy? i thought it was supposed to be aerospace grade aluminium? even my taobao pc case wont have their paint chipped from nail scratch.

just got screen protector that gives camera protector as well. this thing attracts dust and fingerprints too easily. and it looked funny. camera flash also become reflected inside the glass.

maybe ill try for a week. after that im yolo.

edit: okay i think i can safely say that tempered glass on the camera is a bad idea. picture doesn't come out right due to reflection from the glass. flash photo become weird.

you can look at the 1 and 2 star review on the product page. it's the same issue. lens glare and flash picture simply become a mess. on most photo, i don't think you'd notice. it's easy to notice the glare when you try to take a photo with direct light source.

aaand another paint chipped this morning. this time im pretty sure i didnt do anything. it doesnt look like the camera ring hit anything either because the paint chipped from the inner part.

im buying a camera styling cover to stop this bs. at this rate after a year pretty sure the camera ring will no longer have any paint left.

quick googling says that this issue has been around for a long time, back during iphone 11. even my SE late 2020 got same problem. phone always inside casing, camera bump don't touch anything. even if it touches, i'm pretty sure that it will rest on the lens. but funny thing is, the lens is pristine - only the paint around it chipped all over.

Any idea what I should do to avoid unusual battery drain? The phone just suddenly decides to become warm. I thought that it might be bad network, but turning on airplane mode on wifi does nothing. Yesterday it was not like this.

Im on ios 15.7. Downgrade from 16 because of the same problem.

No difference after restart. Phone is warm enough that I can feel through casing. This is the 3rd day in a row. Today I just mindlessly browsing facebook watching reels when it suddenly become warm.

Turning on low battery mode seems to do something. But I got nothing running in the background. No cloud service, no backup or anything.

This one look like need to send for warranty.

back to android. missed pixel 6a sale last week, shopee listing suddenly deleted. seller said it was sold out, but we'll see.

First time I saw the optimized charging notification. Reset the phone early this month, so it took like 2 weeks. Phone was plugged to a power bank, which have its own power cutoff system.

Plugging the phone to a regular charger the notification gone and it resumes charging like usual.
