Any suggestion as to which model I should consider.
Ipad 9th gen vs ipad air 3 (used)

Just general usage like media consumption, social media, drawing (for the kids) etc.

Looking for a better display device if possible

From paper the display is the same I presumed
2160x1620 resolution at 264 ppi (ipad 9th)
2224x1668 resolution at 264 ppi (ipad air 3)

Anything else I should be aware of.

Thanks

for me I would go with the newer, ipad 9 gen is about 1.5 year newer.. with better chipset (A13), better display with retina, better front camera and slightly bigger battery too.. the 0.3" display screen bigger on the air 3 is not noticeable..

Seems the Air has the laminated screen. Hence better display quality compared to the regular Ipad.

hmm Im not sure how significant are the difference in laminated vs regular but I supposed the retina on ipad 9th gen make up a little in that, plus factoring other stuffs in, I'd still go with the 9th gen smile.gif

Advantages of laminated displays

Reduced thickness
Improves visual quality
No dusty screen
Reduced hollow sound
Pictures look painted on
Outdoors performance
No parallax

yeah. some ppl just want newer / first hand stuff. And Ipad Air 3 is discontinued.. I think.
