Just general  usage like media consumption, social media, drawing (for the kids) etc.

Looking for a better display device if possible

From paper the display is the same I presumed
2160x1620 resolution at 264 ppi (ipad 9th)
2224x1668 resolution at 264 ppi (ipad air 3)

Anything else I should be aware of.

Seems the Air has the laminated screen. Hence better display quality compared to the regular Ipad.

yeah. some ppl just want newer / first hand stuff. And Ipad Air 3 is discontinued.. I think.

no brainer. definitely go for the ipad 9th gen.
better chipset means better performance for years to come.
better front facing camera. you never know till you require to use it.

Moving from air 2 to ipad 9, i don't really notice the laminated screen unless if i am looking for it

Actually good deal.  I register last Sunday. Got it today.  The guy told me 1-2weeks. So got it for new year… ur maxis plan need to be 300mbps to get rm9 per month. Haha
