Lel, so Asia is not a continent? How come i dont see ppl calling Honda cars as conti then? Anyway FYI, there is no such thing as "conti cars". Someone just created it and it was continued to be used till now.

Its weird because cars made in UK is called british cars but cars made in Germany is called conti cars. But both UK and Germany are in Europe.

That's the idea. the UK is basically an island off Europe and so is Japan.

Cars from China or India should be also called continental Asia but Aisa is a big continent unlike Europe.

Mind me reminding you that Japan is a cluster of islands?

Probably a UK parlance, in distinguishing themselves as an island nation, separate from continental Europe. And in their daily or common context, "the continent" refers to the European continent instead of any other part of the world, such as "Continental Breakfast".

We just adopt the convention.

Dei, my question was why is Japanese cars not called conti since Japan is on the Asia Continent ? The answer is simple. There is no such thing as conti cars.

Was referring to the above person saying that since germany is in europe continent, thats why they are called conti. So since Honda is from Japan which is on Asia Continent, it should be called conti as well right? So as i said, there is no such thing as conti cars.
