Yup, wireless andriod auto works. but not with all phone.
I tried with my Oneplus5T, does't work.
I tried with Pixel4a, work nicely.

I suspect my Oneplus5T is using Andriod 10, maybe the Andriod Auto version that come with Andriod 10 quite old.

Now i agak understand why Honda dont want to enable and advertise wireless Andriod Auto on civic. because not all phone work flawlessly.

Do check your phone andriod auto if it doesnt work. As you can see OnePlus 5T Andriod Auto (Specifically ask for USB Connection)

Guys, those already have their Civic for some time, how’s the seat? On FB group, I see ppl start to complain that their butt is pain after a long drive. Especially V variant. Anyone can refute or back up the claim?
*
I got V variant, but I don't have butt pain problem. Drove 4 hours in one trip. But my passenger complaint the seat being too low to the ground, and for passengers seat, height is not adjustable.

I tried sitting as a passenger too. It's way too low for me as well. It is especially bad for old poeple.

How you guys deal with it? It seem this passenger seat height thing is worst on civic ketam.

You got FE or Ketam?

Seat in FE is raised in both passenger and rear

Rear for FE also may have a bit more inclination for better comfort
*
I have FE. But kinda funny FE passenger seat can't be raise manually . Even a 40k myvi's seat can be raise manually. Why can't civic

Video

It’s happening all the time when I stop behind a CRV (latest version) and civic FC. See the collision warning system going nuts.

It’s common complaint in WhatsApp user group.
*
Verified this. It happen to me when there is another car with Honda Sensing such as latest CRV or 2020 Civic FC with honda sensing.
But mine does not go as crazy as above video tho. it just blip a few time saying its close to object.

I am driving V variant with 21550R17 tyres

What tyre pressure you guys pump?

I trust honda engineers more, i believe they really do their work when they calculate the tyre pressure specs.
So i follow by the book. currently on ~160km/h 32 psi for all tyres

any of you guys on 160km/h~ 35 psi front, 33 psi back ?

1. rattling sound front passenger door side (under acceleration at low rpm, like the car hits its sweet spot natural frequency)
2. rattling sound from honda sensing housing cover
3. squeaking sound from steering wheel bottom plastic cover
4. squeaking sound from driver seatbelt buckle
*
That bad? What is the milage of your car?

So far mine don't have any rattling or squeaking sound, except for engine, tyre and wind noise when I am driving fast after 100km/h.

Almost 4k km milage now, nothing rattle yet. I even drove up Genting like takumi, to just test all component fitting still intact after hash driving.

Is it normal to have some wind sound around 100km/h?
Mine is V spec, the wind sound from A Pillar quite noticeable. Wondering if 1k service can ask SC to do something on it or install visor will helps.
*
I don't know. Some people says the wind noise created by the door gap catched wind. Its not the sound of the wind sipping into the interior. Some people say the wind noise is from the side mirror catching wind.

Personally I still not use to the wind noise at 100km/h

But I complain at 1k service, technician said its natural wind noise created because by the door gap catched wind. Reposition the rubber seal won't improve the noise because that rubber seal only stop the wind noise from sipping in.

other forummers maybe can pay attention and verify if this is happening on your vehicle as well, and dont be shy to voice out here and in FB group.

I am civic fe v variant owner with 4000km on the odometer. Not a fan boy of civic. It's just a tool for me. Nothing for me to hide.

I will update at 10000 km again, if there is any issue. So far found 2 issue with current FE

1)The wind noise above 100km/h is a major flaw. I am still seeing if anyone will deal with it with after market stuff like rubber cover for the gap etc.

2)Parking sensor overreact when FE got close to an active FD or CRV

I don't experience rattling or squeaking sound .
I don't experience steering wheel rack sound.
No right suspension sound as well like raptor2022 mentioned

But this does not mean it will not happen to other civic fe owner tho, considering msia quality of honda.

Can you take a picture of where your suspect the gap causes the wind noise?

I’m thinking some 2in cellophane tape can be applied to test the hypothesis. Again, not that it’s your responsibility etc, you don’t deserve it but I am a curious hands on problem solver.
*
Let me record a video of where the sound i suspect was created. so far when that sound happen, I am driving quite fast, didnt really thought of recording for our internet friends here.
But the video is good for other buyers who are on the edge of buying to consider. Civic is definitely not a perfect car even thought it is dominating msia c-segment market.

To test hypothesis, let me see if i can cut some sponge to temporary fit the gap, and see if the wind sound changes. if it does, definitely can buy some aftermarket rubber to cover the gap
If it happen to be the sound was created at the side mirror, not sure how we can resolve that tho

For buyer who are still considering civic, there are downside above to consider.

On the plus side spectrum, there is Wireless andriod auto that was not advertise by Honda. you need to go turn it on in diagnosis mode in the instrument panel.
So there is hidden secret feature on the plus side.

Looking at the engine for FE, L15B7 in wiki

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_L_engine
user posted image

I also found additional note on the wiki
QUOTE
Additional notes
- Turbocharged L15B/L15C engines that feature VTC system have Variable Timing Control (VTC) on both the intake and exhaust side.[20][21] It was advertised as VTEC Turbo in Australia and some Asian markets, despite not featuring an actual Variable Valve Lift system like conventional VTEC engines.[22]
- Turbocharged L15B/L15C engines in the Accord is similar to the engine in the CR-V, but with the addition of VTEC to the exhaust cam side[12]
So this FE as i understand, uses the same engine in CR-V and Accord

Does that mean FE have a proper VTEC compared to FC VTC? I am not a previous FC owner. I cant tell the difference.
Any FE owner here was previously driving FC? any difference?

Weird, I am getting 13 km/l on city. and 17 km/l on highway. I drive like normal too. Life is too short to drive to save fc.

I am driving V variant with smaller and narrower 215/50R17 rims tho.
But i am surprise the fc difference is so large apart.

No la, even current HRV maxes out at 118k. Won’t go as high as Civic.
*
I dont know man. take it with a grain of salt, but according to WapCar below, HRV with VTEC Turbo cost around 125k-135k.
Honda is positioning HRV to compete with Toyota cross. so i believe the pricing would be around cross range

https://www.wapcar.my/news/2022-honda-hrv-t...id-hinted-40077

QUOTE
Our sources say that prices of the 2022 Honda HR-V will be very competitive against the Corolla Cross, hybrid variant included. With a smaller engine, starting prices could be lower than before but keep in mind that prices of semiconductor and steel have been on the increase.

We estimate that prices of the most popular 2022 Honda HR-V variants (likely the VTEC Turbo ones) should concentrate around the the RM 125k – RM 135k range.

Below is the wind noise recording from the A-pillar. Granted i am driving around 115km/h, and the recording phone mic was directly at the spot where i suspect the wind noise originated from.
So the noise is extra loud due to the combination of extra speed and mic directly at noise source.

But you be the judge. I saw in facebook civic group, some ppl are complaining this as well.

So potential buyer, please be aware.

Here’s the rattling sound from the door card. Anyone faces same issue? I rmb fa1ix had similar issue, did you get it sorted?

I’m sending for tinting this weekend and I hope HM don’t blame it on tinting. Gonna escalate kau them if they do so.

Don’t know if I’m always unlucky with Hondas or it’s really alor gajah topkek quality. I suspect is the latter.

It’s at 5-7 second and 15-17 second mark.

Edit: sorry it’s not fa1ix but Raptor2022 and ksksksksks . Did you manage to get it fixed?
*
Since many forumer here reported of rattling sound. When i'm alone, i always drive my car without radio on, so i can catch any rattling sound and report it on my 10k maintenance.
And the area i stayed and travelled often, is "not for human to stay" area. the road is full of pot holes especially after the recent K.Valley flood.
And now the car is around 6k on the odometer.

So i would say my car is fairly "break-in"

But I still cant catch a single rattling sound.

The only sound i could identified that is close to rattling sound, is when i go over huge speed bumps, there is a single creek sound as tho the dashboard plastic was flexing. But even that, it does not happen often. I generally think the dashboard flexing sound over huge speed bump an acceptable sound. since we cant stop the car chassis from flexing.

I wonder all these quality issue like rattling sound occurred on cars that honda recently rushed out from factory to meet june SST?

My car was collected on mid of Feb 2022, and manufactured date was Dec 2021. Its the 480th civic FE honda malaysia produced.

Boss, how to check the manufactured date and the 480th number? Collecting car tomorrow... excited.
*
The the VOC, it will state when the car was manufactured.

As for the number of civic of the production line, the last 4 or 5 digit of chassis or engine code. I forgot which. But it was confirmed by my SA that is was the 480th civic, if it ends with eg. "...00480"
I guess since dealer receive multiple civic at a time, they could see the back to back civic received has an incremental of running number of chassis/engine code?
I don't know, i just take his word for it.

It look something like this

QUOTE(isr25 @ Apr 22 2022, 04:16 PM)
How come your manufacturing date was 2021 when my VOC stated “Tahun Dibuat 2022” - engine code is 14X & chassis code is 12X.
Look at the chassis & engine number. The final 4 digits I guess now.
*
My VOC apparently stated manufacturing date Dec 2021. So i guess my car was manufactured way earlier before the Civic launch in Msia and was camping at their factory. So i assumed my car was not the "rushed SST" car

QUOTE(jetzxp @ May 3 2022, 05:54 PM)
will changing the rim size void warranty?
*
Technically speaking, changing rim size would require the change in the ECU accordingly. Else your odometer would not reflect the correct mileage driven since, bigger wheel = longer distance per rotation.

And since changing larger wheel affect below.
QUOTE
Center of mass (of a cross section of tire/wheel) closer to the axis of rotation will require less energy to spin/stop. this is known as the figure skater effect or coriolis force. the larger diameter wheel, even with a smaller dead weight, will have most of its mass farther from the center of the wheel, thus a larger rotating moment. since weight and arm (distance from center) are multiplied to find the rotating moment (the number your engine cares about when turning those wheels) a change in either weight or wheel diameter can effect it either positively or negatively
So. To answer your question, if big item fail and you claim warranty, Honda surely can use above reason so void your warranty if they don't want to foot the bill.

I know changing larger wheel, eg. 18inch look cool and all.

But before you really change from 16inch/17inch to 18inch, please really consider the pro and cons

Fuel Consumption
I know fc can be subjective based on driving style, but there are clearly 2 category i deduce from this FE forum,
You can go to fb FE groups to assess it yourself too. there are 2 group of fc from this FE
1 group with 8 to 10km/l vs 1 group with 13 to 15km/l.
My hypothesis is that the fc range so far apart is due to wheel size. eg, E (16'), V(17') vs RS(18')

Fuel Consumption: hot_hunt, isr25, fa1ix, ayamxxx

Acceleration & Straight Line Speed
Clearly larger wheel dont help in straight line speed in civic case. This is clearly documented in Honda spec sheet
user posted image

Handling & Cornering Speed
Wider wheels base definitely help on grip. so if you are going 215/55R16 to 235/40ZR18. No doubt you gain more traction here.

Others to consider
But even with above pro and cons, in order to fully rip the benefit of 18inch, you do need the proper ECU tune to compensate the coriolis force from larger wheels.
You are driving a car with 16/17' ECU tune, but on a 18' wheels. So I do not know how much those pro and cons will translate on a not properly tune ECU.

And further more, you risk of damaging the suspension with different wheel specs, due to the suspensions are not working on the correct parameters.

If you are really gunning on the look of aggressive stance with larger wheels and grip, and disregarding all cons. yup, changing wheel size is the way to go.
