Hi all
i am currently considering the Civic FE V spec, but have a few questions i hope to get addressed here

1. how is the ground clearance for the civic FE? any issues going up steep ramps at shopping malls/clearing speed bumps?

2. if i get the V spec but add on exhaust tail pipe finisher, will the twin exhausts be visible like in the RS spec? personally i think it will amp up the sport car look by quite a bit

3. will it be difficult for elderly people to get in and out of the car since it is quite low slung

thank you!
*
1. ground clearance definitely not an issue for malls, speed bumps. Not sure with bodykits.

2. yes for v spec can add , but need to change the cover as well. to make it fit better
https://shopee.com.my/Honda-Civic-FE-2022-R...04-31bdb6004006

3. elderly in and out is a challenge, but depends, if they are used to sedans, den should be ok. if they are used to taller cars, they might struggle a bit.
my parents only sit my car once, age 6x, they just say its low, did not complain about hard to get in/out.

thank you for sharing your insight thumbup.gif
glad to know that the ground clearance isnt an issue.
i went for test drive alone the other day, didn't bring my parents along to test whether they can get in and out easily. but from my experience the civic is definitely lower than my current car (2nd gen vios)
meaning once added honda's exhaust pipe finisher, i will still have to get the cover from shopee so that it will show? the SA i'm in  touch with isnt very helpful, keep on pushing for me to get the RS variant  bangwall.gif
*
RS variant is about 150k without Insurance i think. so if add up OTR will be 15x already.

i got the V spec instead as to me the RS is more towards cosmetic, but of coz if we calculate the items given, especially the 18 inch wheels and PS4, its quite worth.
If you're planning to have 18 inch wheels on your ride in the future, just go for the RS.

I chose the V because 18inch tires when tukar banyak mahal lo tongue.gif

this may be an unpopular opinion but actually i prefer the V spec's beige roof lining, feels less claustrophobic biggrin.gif as well as the full leather seats, which IMO should be easier to maintain especially after exercise
yup if you like the big wheels and blacked out interior sure, RS very worth it. maybe it's the age catching up, i dont really like the sporty RS look except for the visible tailpipes  brows.gif
and yes, also i considered 17 inch might have better ride quality, and also more expensive 18 inch tyres in the future
oh dear.. is it because you carry quite abit of speed when going over the speed bumps? yup good suggestion. most likely will drag them along to honda showroom once new HRV test drive unit is also available  rclxms.gif
*
same thinking, im nearing my 40s, although i like how the 18 inch RS wheels look, but im a bit lazy to jaga. during test drive the RS i dont like how the ride feels with the 18 inches. (thats just me)
during the day i took my car and drove out the showroom, im so relieved i picked the V.

BTW, saw this photo on whatsapp group, ouch sad.gif

Just did first 1000 service, requested engine oil change.

Time to tekan 🫢

And next service is 6 months or 10000km, SC says the next service is not 6 months from today oil change, but 6 months from the day I get my car which is June 28

this is malaysia style

they follow their fixed schedule

the 1k oil change is requested by you right?

they dont care one

even you change oil on your own a day before the service date , also they will follow schedule

malaysia car manu gave service center more power, by denying warranty if you no follow schedule

why 1k you go change oil?
*
Ya 1k oil requested by me. That’s just my OCD , previous cars first 1k sure change.

There’s a member here few pages back, the Honda SC doesn’t want to change for him at 1k, telling him will void warranty.

wait how does that work?

what if i take like 4 - 5 months to reach 1000km? then 1 more month i need to go back service again?

unless the first service is 1000km km OR first month, which make more sense. but still they should've followed from the date you changed the oil
*
6th month service is consider 2nd service or 10k km.

First service my mileage is only 800 but I sent in because already 1 month.

This is the oil , I chose 0-20 because my mileage traveling is very low. Town drive only

Notice there’s drum oil price and bottle price, I was charged bottle price

If anyone is looking for Trapo / Dodo, here is my short review. I bought Trapo Hex for my Civic and Dodo Mat for my wife’s HRV. After using both for a while, can now say that I prefer the Dodo Mat.

Dodo Mat can’t really see the dirt, it falls down to the 2nd layer. Trapo, the small2 dirt is really obvious. Fit and finish, I give Dodo a higher rating as the cutting is slightly better, but both are very similar.

Heel Pad - Trapo is preinstalled, and quite sturdy. It’s a bit too forward for my taste, but still my heel is within the pad. Dodo Mat, you need to install it yourself. It’s a bit more work, but since you can put it at the optimal location for you, it’s a bonus.

Not sure about those 3D mat though, potong stim with the pricing laugh.gif
*
Yes I too prefer dodo because can’t really see the dirt.

Well it depends on the family needs. my previous car was a sedan drove for 9 years, and kids even grow up with the car. ( almost sold off and got myself a SUV for the sake of fittings kids stuff).

Family members told me next car just get a SUV. So during car shopping this year, was focusing on SUVs (CX5, CRV, Subaru SV, Toyota CC), in the end i told my wife, i prefer how a sedan drives, and the kids are now 7 and 9 years old, we don't need a big car to carry stuffs.

During the test drive, i did not bring my wife, only my parents. They mention its more spacious and comfortable den your previous car.

paid deposit and when i got the car, brought family for car ride, kids happy, wife happy. Settle.

BUt deep down in my heart, i always prefer a Sedan over SUV, to me it drives better. Not sure about Germans SUV, haven really drove one before

300 as A (self requested)
This is 1k km/3 months inspection service

6000 as B (also self requested)
This is mandatory 10k km/6 months service

Then next will be (probably need to manually request them lol) another B service lol.
*
Your third service by right should be service A right? Base on your current engine oil schedule

If follow HM would be B , because first service there’s no oil change

Mine same situation as yours, in July first service I request oil change and SC told me that they will just make it as service A, next service December will be service B

If not mistaken on dashboard, Service A is only oil change indicated.
For service B it will indicate oil change and oil filter

If I remember correctly, nowadays can’t really remember things about car 😅😓

Lol so they kinda considered our first 600km oil change as A, and since i requested Oil filter replacement despite A does not require oil filter change, they park it as B lol !
*
Ah missed out your this post. My first oil change requested I forgotten to request them for oil filter change, which initially I’m intended to do so.

hi guys,

I have a question here, yesterday is my first time wash the car (only wash the area below windows).
After wash, open the door, found inside (before rubber block place) all are water.
Is this normal for civic???

4 doors the same.

I’m not sure is psychology playing tricks on me but my door panels rattling seem reduced after some spirited drive on highway last week.

🤣😂
