repaint whole car can cost around 6k right? and when repaint, they will also need to open everything.. and dunno la over west msia, at sarawak here my fren bought a second hand civic and repaint, took like 1 month plus to complete everything lol.
*
JB around 4-5k. Takes about a week at the most. I'm guessing the 1 month plus includes repairs & waiting for parts. Or there is a high volume of customers, doesn't make sense 1 month plus.

Just wanna ask ex-FC 1.5 turbo owners here any of you after warranty just service car based on the fixed 6 month/10k km interval like normal NA car without following the driving pattern dependent  A-B service reminder? Is the car ok if the 6 mth/ 10k km interval is within 5k km difference?
*
Oil change is much much cheaper than engine repair.

The spec for Civic eHEV show max  power for electric motor 184 kW @ 5k-6k rpm. Why is there still rpm isn't it electric motor that drive the car?
*
Battery can't support that much power for long

Doing a quick calculation on "making eHEV worth it" - let's make a few general assumption:

1. Turbo Civics can go 12km/l
2. eHEV Civics can go 20km/l.
3. Price of RON95 maintain at RM2.05/L
4. Price difference between Turbo & eHEV does not consider cheaper interest rate and higher insurance cost for eHEV.
5. Price difference between Turbo & eHEV is RM15,800 (RS Turbo vs RS eHEV)
6. Assume you drive 20,000km / year

It takes 11.6 years to break even / basically you need to drive 232,000KM for it to break even with the above assumption. This is not even calculating the cost of changing battery which warranty only lasts 8 years.

Obviously, only get eHEV if you like the features / like the power for hybrid / want to support cleaner engine / in anticipation that RON95 will go up in price - if RON95 goes to RM3.00/L, it will take 7.9 years (158,000KM) to break even.

Fear of loss of power/efficiency of the electric motor over the years with 100 kg more car weight to carry
*
QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Nov 15 2022, 03:40 PM)
In the end..... you are actually buying the eHEV for the technology and extra features instead of fuel consumption. If you wanted to save fuel going for the Turbo actually make more sense in the long term and maintanence wise

But this is all assuming RON95 maintains at 2.05 per L
*
Correct, basically don't buy because it's fuel saving - it's not worth it.

I'm not poo pooing any of you for choosing to buy eHEV - just saying don't choose it because it's "fuel saving" coz it's not worth it - but definitely buy because of the specs / power / fits your lifestyle biggrin.gif

In any case, welcome to the Civic 11 club!

Honda said they captured 81% c segment car. Toyota malaysia need to up their game with their Corolla.
I dont think this is a fair comparison.
Unless u minus the cost for dual aircond, wireless charger, bigger meter cluster display etc.

And i am buying hybrid bcos of better spec. Not bcos of fuel consumption. It is just a bonus. ๐Ÿ˜…
*
Did you read my conclusion? I did write to buy it for the specs & power, donโ€™t buy it for the lower fuel consumption.

In any case, I support you guys to buy the Civic eHEV and welcome you to the Civic 11 community!

-edit-

Also, the Sensing system is the same across all Civic 11 range which is inclusive of the lead car departure notification system

if you're not an enthusiast, drive normally would do.

no need wait for warming up, but don't go red line within first 5-10 minutes of cold starts, no constant RPM but if you're on highway it doesn't really matter.
going Gohtong/Genting/Touge is fine, no need to red line no need to race and it is perfectly ok.

no need any special method apart from most common sense (such as no red line the moment you cold start your car)
*
This. Also, no hard braking for the first 500km iinm - it's listed on the booklet.

why not online and can save 10%. Another, doubt the Civic windscreen need at that price coverage.

rm3k enough

HIP benefits trumps any savings imho. Windscreen was quoted that amount by Honda, better follow. Might be expensive due to Sensing.

Of course, different people, different way of thinking.

Original Honda battery is maintenance free. No need to topup. I thought all new car batteries from all manufacturers are already maintenance free.

Hi @isr25 have u encountered any issue with the infotainment  system after activating Wireless Android Auto? E.g. unit system or the Honda Connect app crash?
*
I enabled the setting, but never tested Wireless AA coz donโ€™t use Android anymore, just iOS + Wireless Carplay. The HU does crash from time to time - maybe once a month, HU startup takes a minute, but donโ€™t think itโ€™s because of Wireless AA. Honda Connect app never crashed on me yet, besides the bug in the early days of Civic. That one everyone had trouble with the app.

isr25 your Civic FC/FE second A/B Oil life reminder what km?
I second A Still 4600 km WTF? ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฆ
*
As of yesterday:

Previous Service Mileage: 7,080 km
Servicing Reminder: 17,080 km

Current Mileage: 13,026 km
Maintenance Minder: 6,100 km

Thus, I have an extra 2,000 km at my current pace.

My wife's HRV is even crazier (HRV V Spec) since she is driving 40+km a day at 60-70km'h average & 130++ km/h top speed.

Previous Service Mileage: none
Servicing Reminder: 10,000 km

Current Mileage: 7,002 km
Maintenance Minder: 6,500 km

She has an extra 3,500 km at her current pace.

WTF Melaka traffic got that bad?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Can't be i whack the car?! There's traffic lights and traffic jams everywhere Melaka
*
I'm guessing its the idling time that's killing your oil life. Me and my wife both really have low idle time (none to little traffic jams) and we both don't warm up/cool down the car after driving. This July I will be moving office, so I am saying goodbye to the low mileage - current typical daily drive is roughly 12km, and will be around 45km when we move.

First time civic turbo V owner, car dealer said 1st service after 1month/1000 km whichever comes first is recommended for servicing. Do i take their advice or wait till 1000km cause its' 1 month now and the car is only at 500+ km. Feel wasted for the free 1st service..
*
Need to go 1 month OR 1k km. Failure to do so may result in warranty request being denied in the future. They don't do anything except inspect and tighten things and FOC.

My advise, just go la. Need to waste some time only.

mine not yet 1k and 1 month also they did the 1k inspect edi when i send to pasang accessories. But i think better to do it at 1k, because like now, some minor rattling and some braking sound problem coming in, at least after 1k can say already run in but still got those issue.

What they tighten actually haha.
*
They tighten stuff on wheels, engine etc, not the cabin stuff. If got rattling / squeeking need to come on other days for checks, not during preventative maintenance service.

Ownership Verification for Honda Connect not working now. Tried to verify both Civic and HR-V failed. Not sure app is having problem or my network at this area has issues. Funnily enough, itโ€™s showing the correct position and trips in the app. Will try again tomorrow morning

Ok - just verified both cars. Indeed Ownership Verification had problems last night, as I successfully verified my Civic without any issues. The HRV continued to have problems verifying, until I did one small trick:

I remembered yesterday, the odometer just changed while I was parking, so I decided to enter 1 less KM e.g current odometer 7,107km, I entered 7,106km into the app. It worked - immediately verified.

So if you encounter this problem verifying your Honda Connect, do try this trick.
