So I went to a showroom today, damn the SA is super excited about it and keep telling me that the new one is far better than the ketam since he already drove it (ya, without lotax n insurance LOL).
I've tested everything. From seat to sturdiness to everything lah. Here's my findings on the Civic (RS model) in no particular order:
1) Back tyre housing/damper is cloth type. O.O It will get dirty easily right?
2) TBH, when medias keep blow water say "you must come and see for yourself and only you'll know the beauty of it.". NGL, it's real. Seeing it IRL, it's really just, wow! If I were to compare to the direct competitor of M brand, the frontal is almost similar.
3) 2 radiator fans to cool down the 180hp 240Nm engine.
4) Real 2 rear diffusers
5) Head unit (infotaintment) is smooth and huge. UI and UX is pretty intuative. As for Wireless CarPlay (sorry, I no Android device), I found that it's laggy. I was playing song + open waze and my song was struggling abit to play. Waze was also. But all is fine after 1-2s. I'm not sure if it's initial boot or it's my old 8+ device lah.
6) Rear trunk is hydraulic. No helping you to close ya. But the closing of the boot is really, nice.
7) Front hood is HEAVY AF = quality?
8) To change wiper, they follow similar to brand M's same level competitor way. How to trigger it idk but the wiper is half under/below the hood.
9) Speakers, ok lah. Can't really test because too much plastic all over the speaker. Mass general public won't care about the quality la. I bet if HM slapped Bose emblem on it also ppl will believe it's real Bose lol. (I'm not audiophile)
10) I'm > 165cm, < 170cm, front seat put to the optimal driving position, back seat has HUMUNGOUS OF SPACE.
11) Rear AC vents are placed just nice. IDK if it's just me but the location of it looks good.
12) Alot of soft touch area that used to be hard plastic. Well done HM. But lmao, the rear seat's seatbelt there, that's plastic. Imagine sit and kena pushed to the side and then suddenly, hard plastic lol.
13) Usual contact area of the door is soft touch but others is hard plastic.

The SA told me “last sunday booked, car already here, waiting for JPJ registration” and I did saw the cars there ready to be collected already. And rebate the SA is giving is 1k. Just posting here for reference, sold my stock standard launch unit 2016 Civic 1.5 TC-P for RM83k at a used car dealer in JB. Carsome / mytukar would get slightly higher, but I wanted to do assignment of number plate, so easier to do with used car dealer directly.

And with that, my SA says should get my car on Saturday at the latest

Wait what... can't switch cars? I thought there is a form that customers sign as car delivered? If customer die die don't sign?

AFAIK, if the car is already registered to your name, the car is yours (and the bank). If you reject & don’t sign, they will repair the car defect, but you won’t get the car while they are fixing it.

Not sure if you die die don’t want, what will happen coz the car is already registered to your name.

From my previous experience with “launch car” with the FC 5.5 years ago, I highlighted issues with the SA (minor ones) and I collected the car normally. During the 1k service, they repaired it. In fact, some water managed to enter my right side blinkers when driving during a storm (before 10k service), they replaced it under warranty too.

Sad, my car assignment had issues with the jpj system, so can only collect my car tomorrow or Monday at the latest. Still a CNY car tho

same like u buying house , once it register under your name , if anything happen they will just repair til u satisfy

Ignite Red RS. Most cars delivered are E & V variant at my dealer. I haven’t personally seen any on the road yet tho.

Test drive liao FE just now.

Initial thoughts upon entering the car(RS):
1) As wide as Civic FC.
2) It feels like A pillar is thick
3) the blackout interior/roof is "soothing" to me
4) Why the seat feels like there's something there pushing against my butt?

During and after drive:
1) 180Ps 240Nm is srsly no joke
2) Sport mode holds up to 6k rpm and still allowing me to go. I no balls already so I shift up
3) Acceleration is just, srsly, wow.
4) Cornering was not bad. Thks to the ultra-suade seats to keep me in the seat. (Could be RS only applicable opinion since tyres are PS4 and seats are semi leather)
5) Wish there was a HUD. Driving fast and I have "no time" to look down at my speed. I'm used to have the cheap HUD bought from an ecommerce website in my current car.
6) My SA keep ask me "corner can tekan only. go tekan only" and I'm like "??????? u wanna die? u want to pay for the car's damages if anything happens?"
7) Drive Mode selector abit susah to reach during driving. Maybe because first time drive it so not used to the placing of it.
8) After driving, I walk around the car to see if I can "appreciate" it. 80% appreciated until I see the back of the car is just so meh. Btw, this test drive car got a full spec-ed out Modulo and all of the accessories lah. (Disclaimer: 80% is I close eye on the modulo accessories)
Verdict:
1) WOW
2) V spec cukup if you are not gonna always fly corners = don't need the ultra suade seats. Also, I did not bother about the existence of that duck tail or not. 6k go take ppf or tint.
3) Civic's 18" tyre configuration is quite xpensive. 17" is cheaper.

My test drive place:
- Honda Botanic Klang
- test drive area -> 2 long straight roads with a corner at the end. I was able to fly 140++. Good mixture of highway and town/city driving (after that 2 straight roads is connected back with normal roads with holes and roundabouts)

Don't ask me compare driving this vs M competitor. Don't wanna later be called out as bias to either one of it. Go test drive yourself.

you so lucky, my past experience test driving the FC, the SA kept screaming woi going to topple car (fan che) as i pushed the continentals screaming (back then IINM TC/TCP also no Michelin)

and that is only cuz i throttle a bit more after traffic light and corner (haha FF cars) , it was really low speed and the car and tires still got a lot more room to continue push. (and 2 lane road wide enough in case any bad understeering)

The Door Visor package is a bit expensive for Rm750

Perhaps cos of the chrome finishing?
