yeah my own vehicle(s) i got full fuelly records biggrin.gif

Consistent fueling up methods (fill to the brim, click once, click twice etc) and calculating KM driven vs Fuel pumped in is the best and most reliable method. The km/l info on the dash is just an indicator - usually higher than the method above.

Just found out that the 9" HU resolution is 1280x720 (HD resolution). Previous FC HU resolution was 800x480

This HU is latest model following the g10 Accord. Heard rumours new HRV following UMW plan, gets aftermarket HU on our region.
*
I saw the pictures of HRV launched in Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. Their HU looks bad... But as long as the HU is tightly integrated with the car, it is still acceptable.

I drove my MIL's Corolla Cross, and the HU is not integrated well with the car - really bad user experience.

1. The clock on HU & Car is not linked. Only noticed when I saw the clock on the meter cluster was off by 10 minutes, but the HU clock is correct. Need to set/config separately.
2. The controls on the Steering Wheel is not integrated with the radio - press up / down / left / right will not control the HU, but meter cluster options. Only the volume button works.
3. The sole USB port is on the front of the HU itself - want to use Carplay / Android Auto? Enjoy looking at the unsightly wire coming from the HU.

My wife has booked the new HRV RS though. Tentatively launching around July.

any insider news on the details?

i really like the styling ! but i reckon its more suitable as 2nd car in the family.
*
Not yet. The SA training will be in May/June. Almost 100% confirm the delivery will be after SST holiday ends. I'm guessing the price would be 15k less than Civic - which would mean that the top tier RS would be around RM130k with SST

This would mean the size of the vehicle (passenger width) would be smaller ? Its like hard to imagine today without and actual car, but I am confused when they launch the replacement model at significantly higher price, is it actually bigger than the predecessor?
*
Running away from the thread here - From what I read, it has the same wheelbase, -6mm length, +18mm wide, -15mm height, +35mm rear legroom.

I'm talking about the top end RS - rumoured to be using the same 1.5L turbo Civic engine. Currently using 1.8L.

Apologies for my innocence, but wouldn't Hrv be priced at par or more than the current price of civic? Considering the sst and what not?

I have seen a few singapore registered Hrv on the road, the white looks very cool.
*
No la, even current HRV maxes out at 118k. Won’t go as high as Civic.

If you ask me, Malaysia only deserves the global version as we are a small market. But personally I'm was hoping that the hatchback (broken record, yes i know) should have been offered as well as the Hybrid e:HEV.
*
You may get your wish for e:HEV. Got rumour saying maybe end of this year or early next year

Happened exactly same case to me too. Anyone know how to do the ownership verification in Honda connect app? There shown no data and cannot click verify button.
*
QUOTE(InsaneKT @ Apr 8 2022, 09:47 AM)
I was told by SA to email helpdesk.hondaconnect@honda.net.my for this issue since SC and their Admin does not know what to do.
This helpdesk email just replied me "will highlight to next higher level" and no response after for 2 days.
Will update here again if any progress.

*But it's not blocking anything but just extra pop up
*
Just lodge a complaint to Honda - this one dealer also dunno. Rhe Honda Connect app is still full of bugs, the “my service” is still showing “cannot calculate” for more than a month now.

The ownership verification, mine actually showed a countdown - verify ownership in 29 days, 28 days etc between the fuel level & engine start stop in the app if I remember correctly.

Just need to physically be at your car, go to “ownership verification” at the side tab, choose verify now, then turn on your car within 60 seconds. That’s it.

I think owners need to verify every 3 months, but prompt will come in 2 months and remind to verify within 30 days. Not sure what happens if don’t verify, can’t use Honda Connect App & go back to dealer to reactivate? Not sure…

PS5S or PS5's? tongue.gif

also in your video, Bridgestone UK/Muhrica is F'ing retarded. put comfort tire vs all the UHP, basically suicide.

i am still on the fence between all these:
Falken FK510
or their latest Azenis FK520
Bridgestone RE004
Yokohama Advan Fleva (admittedly in today market, very old liao, and won't ever match my current PS4)
Goodyear AS5
or their latest Goodyear AS6
*
Dunno why they sent those tyres laugh.gif Possibly: can’t win against the competition, so better send a wildcard

I got my Sony PS5 already, so will be using Michelin PS5 too biggrin.gif Didn’t check at local tyre shops yet, but online, seems like the price is the same as PS4 (about RM750)

Goodyear AS6 also out in Malaysia already? Or you’re also talking about next year?

Me too, planning to chg it soon. Would it better performance? 😁😁
*
Only 1.7% claimed improvement over the PS4 in wet grip (but 1.7% decrease in wet for Japanese PS5, not sure ours is which one), but 15% better wear performance source

I won't change this year coz 2022 maintenance budget already blow laugh.gif Definitely will be PS5 in January 2023, the Michelin PS4/PS5 tyre sidewall is beautiful compared to GY AS5/6

*
First time car owner? If I remember correctly, my special perils was only RM200++. Can't be 100% sure coz the insurance cover note is at home, will go back and see

This is my third car, but first time insure for special peril, hehe.

The agent called just now and said he wrongly use 0.5% to calculate as he thought the promotion for 0.2% has ended.
*
Actually I just checked on the internet - there seems to be 2 types of special perils.
1) Special Perils
- 0.2% of sum insured
- In the case of RS - RM288
- In case of total loss / cleaning / repairs due to special perils, can be up to full value of sum insured (RM144k)

2) Limited Special Perils
- 0.5% x 25% of sum insured
- In the case of RS - RM180
- In case of total loss / cleaning / repairs due to special perils, will only cover up to 25% of sum insured (RM36k)

I checked with image captured by my SA, my premium for special perils was RM288 (MSIG)

Anything with 0% NCD? I thought u upgrade from FC to FE, hence potentially bring the NCD from old to new car.
*
I knew someone might notice this discrepency laugh.gif I paid 100% first, then after all the process done (new car received + sold old car), transferred the old NCD to the new car, get back refund for my NCD amount + refund from old insurance 1 shot.

That's true, this is the fastest process for proceeding the car, sometimes transferring the policies A to B will cause some delay due to certain circumstances so better just paid for it first and get refund later. Therefore u can get ur car asap 👍🏻 U know la, sometimes SA or stock that's really in out superb fast the single sec also will cause u trouble LOL
*
Also, to make things faster, i paid my downpayment with cash first before i sold my car laugh.gif Hence, that’s why I got allocation faster I guess? I was willing to pay 100% insurance + pay 100% downpayment before selling off my car. The only reason why got delayed a bit coz I wanted to do number assignment and because of that, need to wait for puspakom empty slot… if not, can get maybe 1 week earlier.

Sorry if the questions are too basic:

1) Is it worth installing the honda recorder? Or better do it outside?
2) Is Honda tint Ray barrier 4+ ok? I'm a normal normal daily driver
*
1) Depends. Want parking mode + scared void warranty + scared something go wrong when install outside? This is the best (only?) solution. But, if you don’t mind buying outside and no parking mode, then better get outside… more choices & cheaper price. Parking mode might void warranty coz need to tap to fuse. Unless get the new odb connection type power.
2) Just go for outside tint - better & cheaper. This one dun worry la, shouldn’t void warranty.

V and RS owners, do get your SA to activate the Honda Connect feature of your car. Funnily enough on the Civic 11 FB Group, there seems to be an uptick of new Civic owners who did not get their Honda Connect activated when they received their car - although I’m not sure if they are actually E spec owners but want the Honda Connect feature coz seems like very reluctant to go back to their dealer / SA even after told them that’s the only way to get it done.

Take note ya GuyM

Friendly reminder to friends collecting their car soon to:
1. Check gao2 gaps, car paint - ideally check under bright lights
2. Tyre pressure at the next available fuel station - your ride quality will significantly improve
3. Avoid hard acceleration & hard braking for the first 300km
4. Ensure SA/Dealer configure Honda Connect when collecting the car (V & RS only)
5. ENJOY THE CAR! laugh.gif
