Just want to check here... anyone attempted to raise the height of the front passenger seat? My SA told me some done it with the use of some washers added to the seat bolts... anyone did the same here ?

If you managed to find the original Honda BSM module (taobao got a few sellers actually), its basically just plug and play except the part where you need the OBD tool. The setting will appear directly in the stock HU

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jun 28 2024, 07:00 PM) You cannot use simple washers. This is because the front 2 holes are on a slant, and if you just use spacers it will misalign the holes of the body vs seat. If you are mechanically inclined you will understand. Using my phone cannot draw simple diagram. Thanks. Honda should seriously consider offer height adjustment for the front passenger seat, doesn't need to be electric just a manual one will doWhen I first bought my car I almost decided to jack it up and designed a spacer “realignment block”. But this will need the seat to go up at least 2 inches if I recall and I gave up. Maybe I didn’t spend enough time on the CAD as I didn’t consult master designer @KCLOW. TLDR just buy a thicker cushion pad |

Is it worth to get Civic eHEV now? SA are offering 10 - 12k rebate. Personally I feel its damm worth for the powertrain itself but just a bit concerned with the steering rack issues although there's rumours flying around that latest batches are using an updated part now

QUOTE(asphiroth @ Jul 5 2024, 02:28 PM) Sigh.... when did you received your car btw? I think the rumour about the new part surfaced around May - June iinm I was also looking around in fb owners group (for Civic ehev), not all people kena this issue. Although most who kena reported it (for sure), some claim they dont have any issues since day 1. I wonder whether its luck with the component quality itself or other factors like usage patterns This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jul 5 2024, 02:46 PM |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Jul 5 2024, 06:28 PM) I feel it’s bs when SC keep mention is updated new rack etc. I was in Corolla Cross and CX30 owners group as well (all these models under my consideration) and I've seen people there complaining about steering issues as well and most common symptom is the tuk or clicking sounds when turning the steering. Some said SC refused to change because its normal and the sound dissappeared after a while for some owners My recalled Rack changed in April, now tuk sound is back.. Though if its sticky steering issue like Honda then its totally different This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jul 5 2024, 07:17 PM |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jul 5 2024, 07:53 PM) No changes for the parts hence many who getting the "updated" steering rack heading to SC back after 3 months usage Shame... but its still a really tempting option for me after the rebates, just for the powertrain actually. Its quite a steal for 155k (after rebates) |

QUOTE(Cavino @ Jul 9 2024, 01:55 PM) If you going to buy Civic, yes, with the discount, it is worth it. Dont think its gonna be end of this year, earliest gonna be Q1 2025 at least because Thailand haven't launched the facelift yet (usually Thai will get it before us). I cannot wait until next year because I have a number plate to register by DecemberHowever I think Civic facelift should be at the end of the year or early 2025. But then again with production delay, don't know when can get car. According to my SA Civic Hybrid is not affected by production delays like CRV Hybrid... yet. Average waiting period around 1 month. That's why they are able to offer high rebates for it also This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jul 9 2024, 11:01 PM |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jul 10 2024, 10:20 AM) First, we need to wait Thai market 1st, if they launch the facelift version, then only we add couple of months to launch in our market. Typical HM, facelift when car at 4-5 years life cycles, which was on our market back in Jan 22, doubt they wanna launch facelift version soon. Starting 2023 already, plenty of SA give rebates for this Civic, up to rm10k, look at FB group Civic if really want grab any good offer. Even if the facelift launch i doubt its gonna be any big difference other than cosmetic change. Maybe HM will finally give BSM? Maybe they will fix the hard seats in the RS? Maybe Bose? (a bit far fetched but since CRV got it.... ). Some say it will also get the slightly more powerful powertrain (+ 20nm) from the CRV hybrid. But looking at how slow production is for that now, not sure if HM want to add another model to share the same powertrain All these probably will add up to the price which is already very expensive to begin with for a Civic (167k). The pricing now is the sweet spot after rebates (155 - 157k~) This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jul 10 2024, 11:41 AM |

QUOTE(katijar @ Jul 16 2024, 10:12 PM) The main issue for me is the front passenger seat, its set unnecessarily low for some reason. Should've included height adjustment like the driver seat at leastI find the rear seats to be fine, typical sedan ingress and egress height This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jul 18 2024, 01:27 AM |

Facelifted Civic launched in Thailand. As expected not much changes other than cosmetics
The biggest change was the HU now using Android automotive OS, 4 way power adjustable front passenger seat, and Bose for the full spec hybrid This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Aug 1 2024, 07:59 PM |

QUOTE(Cavino @ Aug 2 2024, 11:09 AM) If only they can pad the seats to be slightly thicker for less butt pain and give an eight way power seat on the passenger. For me, that will like be the 2 most important change for comfort but I think they skip that. I always thought Honda power adjustable seats are redundant since they dont offer memory adjustment anywayBut yes for the Civic its a missed opportunity to make it even better. I have to give up going for the Civic mainly because of the seats |

QUOTE(Zer0 c00L @ Aug 2 2024, 05:25 PM) at least you can adjust the height of the seat, the manual ones can't do that i dont think 4 way power adjustable let you adjust the height of the seat. 4 way is just seatbase forward - backwards, backrest forward - backwards iinmand not sure why they decided to make the passenger side seat extra low without the ability to even adjust |

QUOTE(powerdave @ Aug 5 2024, 12:37 PM) hello guys, recently civic has huge discount that make me even wanted to switch from toyota to honda but 1 thing bugging me is, I saw a lot of review stating steering rack issue, just wanted to know how bad it is... i was very tempted by Civic eHEV discount also, lurked around in some owners group in fb. Some owners are very lucky to not encounter any issues with steering rack, while those who did after changing the issue tend to return again. Rumours say they just refurbished all the returned racks so its like a vicious cycle and the problem is never endingafter test driving though i decided this is not the car for me. the powertrain is very good infact the best in the segment I would argue, and I would also gladly take a gamble with the steering rack for it. It's just that the seats are horrible, hard with no lumbar support whatsoever, and the front passenger seat was set too low for a comfortable ingress/egress for people with long legs or the elderly. The overall built quality also feel dubious for a 150k+ product, just doesn't give you the confidence that its durable. The test car I'm in also had some rattles as many would say, buying a Honda here is like buy engine free car This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Aug 5 2024, 03:34 PM |

QUOTE(thechickadee @ Aug 11 2024, 09:55 AM) Am thinking of getting an FE due to the rebates. Wanna ask the sifus, how long does it take for honda to entertain steering rack issues and how long does it take for honda to replace the steering rack? Afaik the issue with steering racks is due to a local supplier here. Thai dont seem to have any issues or its not as widespread. Honda USA did issue a recall notice for steering related issues thoughAlso, anyone has idea whether the thai facelift uses the same steering rack? https://hondanews.com/en-US/honda-corporate...ing-rack-recall This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Aug 11 2024, 12:22 PM |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Sep 10 2024, 02:08 PM) I’m planning to sell off my 2 year old FE already and get a Mazda instead sometimes in CX30 owners club I see some owners complain certain minor issues eg: rattling and they say regret, wanna sell the car get Honda etc. I'm like dude you got no idea......- rack issues - hard seats (not comfortable for me and wife, sakit buntut - interior, door panels, power window rattles everywhere like an old car Other than that, it’s a good car to drive. But I don’t think I can live with it anymore especially the rack issues I’m facing. So it all depends on you. For me I’ll just get the S70. |
