I think as long as you are using ios 10 or later, should be fine.

The articles misleading by taking into account the OS originally shipped with the phone.

Iphone 5 and above supports IOS 10 and above so no problem there (at least for a year more), likely 5 will die next year and 6 will follow suit.

Not true. As long as you are updated to latest OS. If you are using iOS 10 then you cannot use WhatsApp.

Probably wont be able to update newer version kot...

I get that a lot on my iPad2 until one day, it straightaway said you cant run this app anymore on this OS. So just keep using it until it refuses to launch the app anymore.

6s latest ios is iOS 14.7.1 if im not mistaken, i dont see any issues with it not working. The discontinuation are for those with lower firmware versions i guess.

Nope. The only iPhones that would not be supported after 1st November 2021 would be iPhone 4 and 4S.

I thought cant use iphone 6s after updated the OS. End up i dont dare update. Will go update now as it prevents me from watching netflix. Wasted my 2wks subscription previously..

I believe it depend on the supported ios
Even now it still working on my old ip6 but cant update the apps
