Not ram, 8 GB is enough, change your HDD to SSD, thats what you need.

Strange, because I have desktop running 4GB / SSD and works well. Can you check resource monitor, see anything else could be bottlenecks ? RAMs are fully utilized ?

I have a stupid question:

Does swapping out my ram (currently 4gb) to something higher does anything to my data?

Thank you. This question has been on my mind and got me really worried due to having a big chunk of my database on my laptop.

This is such a big relief!

Thank you so much! thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

Hi, I am also thinking to upgrade my laptop RAM from 8GB to 16GB with another 8GB added to my current 8GB RAM. I open quite alot of chrome tabs for school works and it just could not handle the task well so I think I might need to upgrade it.

So I wonder what brand of RAM with 2666MHz speed that I should buy ? Do RAM brand matters ? I am thinking to get the Kingston HyperX Impact but it seems to cost quite abit compared to others. Is there any cheaper alternative that does the job well ?

Thanks!

Crucial ram is good too
Also check what's the specs of the stock ram, especially the CL, if it's slow no point in getting HyperX if it will be bottlenecked anyways

Just try to match the speed and cl

Upgrade ssd to increase speed, not ram.
