i leave my kid alone with a maid at home when i go to work and the problem is that during google meet online class she likes to turn off the webcam and her teacher already made the complain to me.
is there a way to always make the webcam turned on at all times so that she cant disable it?

thanks

what u need to fix is not camera
is parenting.

Just give your kid a offer he/she can’t refuse.

Leave the webcam open to attend class and receive small reward everyday.

Close the webcam during class and losing the house WiFi privilege during evening or something else.

Ask the teacher to be your informant.

Have you found the solution? I have something that might just work, tested on Windows 64bit + Google Chrome

User can turn off/turn on the Google Meet Camera using a button or a shortcut key CTRL + E. The chrome extension will hide the button using css & a simple software to disable the camera shortcut key.

I attached a zipped file, download & extract it. You must not delete the chrome extension, so keep this folder somewhere safe.

For the software, you need to compile it on your own, easy. Check the Readme.txt

The chrome extension will continue to work unless Google change the Google Meet Theme using a different css style. I work for me, not sure for you laugh.gif

Why don't you install simple IP cam and connect it to your wireless router via cable or WiFi? Simple to setup and video quality is way much better than your laptop's built-in cam. And you can keep monitoring your kid thru browser or software or thru mobile app.

Some you can insert memory card for them to store video/photos for you and now even allow the video/photos to upload to cloud storage. And you can some more pan and tilt the camera via on screen when you remote in for viewing. Even some model can enable motion detection and auto pan tilt the camera when object moving.

There are many malware that they can control and turn on Windows-based laptop to enable your laptop built-in camera. Usually I suggest user to tape the built-in camera if they have their laptop in bedroom.
