Lol N? Is their KF94 approved by the Korean FDA?

Doesn't seem like the word "KF94" is printed on the mask either.

"A few visual cues can help. Collins says every KF94 he’s tested has had KF94 printed on the packaging. It should also have the red, white, and blue seal of the Korean government or the text 식약처 허가, which means Ministry of Food and Drug Safety approved. If the packaging is in English, similarly, look for the words “certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, South Korea."

Not in the SK government's database either:

https://nedrug.mfds.go.kr/pbp/CCBCC01/getLi...grade=&classNo=

Their website doesn't even provide any company name & address. Domain is private as well.

Confronted them but you know what they replied?

"We are certified by CE, which is an international standard, compared to KFDA which is only for 1 country in Korea"

KF94 is South Korean equivalent of the N95 and they say certification by CE is more important than the certification by Korean FDA.

I laughed.

Please la do yourself a favour and buy a proper N95 by 3M. RM 2 per pc. Not worth it to buy expensive but get normal 4ply because of mislabelling.

I bought a ton of Neutrovis recently, 5 boxes. But now wear in car only. Then 2 box Respack as recommended by someone in that thread, but they ship so slow compared to the korean sellers tak move yet few days. At least Respack got approval in MDA database unlike Neutro when last checked.

Same with Neutrovis Kf94 for me seem when exhale it tends leak out below chin. But inhale nothing as it pulls the mask closer to face near the mouth part. So safer for you but not for others if you are exposed. My face small tho.

I won't bother with KF94 to be honest since there is a 50/50 chance it could be fake so why risk? Rather than wasting time searching for KF94 brands, I rather stick with reputable brand like 3M.

I bought directly from AM Industrial which is the authorised retailer for 3M.

N95 9501 and 9502+ is a good start. I try to get the headband one (9502+) since it has tighter seal. A little bit more expensive than 9501.

Can get 3M VFlex too for more comfortable breathing but it looks weird lol.

Kf94 is comfy and if 94% filtration efficiency vs 95% for 3m n95 sometimes the comfort factor is worth the 1% less. Easier to put on and take off. If daily not going to crowded area it’s a choice for most since between surgical mask vs kf94.

3M 9501 - awful short earloops, recommend to avoid cause yr telinga will hurt
3M 9502+ - have the 9010CN which the 9502+ replaces for now and it is a good option, but i have an allergy to the interior of 9010CN gotta test 9502+
3M vflex - low stock, expensive for 1x use $6-8
3m aura - same as vflex but bit less expensive
3M 8010 - cup shape, best choice rn can get for $3-4 now in box loose
3M 9513 “advanced filtering” with hook - new kn95, earloop but expensive for kn95 $5 each individually wrapped

3M 9513 “advanced filtering” with hook - new kn95, earloop but very expensive $5 each
*
But as mentioned, you don't know if it's genuine when you are getting KF94. Definitely not the N brand lol.

Agree on the 9501+ (still usable but annoying to put on), hence why i suggest going for the 9502+ headband one.

Also, Vflex where got so expensive o? Low stock yes haha.

Surgical mask is definitely a no-no but not many knows.

Vflex looks interesting, but stock no have at least reputable sellers. Def going get some to try. Thanks! Only $4-5 a piece if buy 25pcs.

Kf94 have few official stores. Like Airshell - https://shopee.com.my/product/388150847/103...84-1630421414.9

Yeah N brand disappointing, someone said made in china in other thread … got 5 boxes now going wear in car only lol waste of money

3M 9501 - awful short earloops, recommend to avoid
3M 9502+ - have the 9010CN which the 9502+ replaces for now and it is a good option, but i have an allergy to the interior of 9010CN gotta test 9502+
3M vflex - low stock, super expensive for 1x use $8-10
3m aura - same as vflex but less expensive
3M 8010 - cup shape, good, can get for $3-4 now
3M 9513 “advanced filtering” with hook - new kn95, earloop but very expensive $5 each

9513 can grab from Shopee's 3M store.

RM15 for pack of 3; on sale dates they typically will give a few RM5 store voucher, if you're lucky to get Shopee's RM5 or RM6 coinsback, you practically just need RM4-5 for 3 3M KN95.

Ada /k can Recom?

Neutrovis Mask KF94 -- RM29, 10pcs

this kf94 is made in china . my guess . and you can get genuine kf mask made in korea ... Cheaper nod.gif
i dont trust made in china mask to comply to the claim standards. cos only a handful tested pass . FACT .
just see mask test videos on youtube and cdc/fda website for test performance details. not many china mask pass the test.

chose carefully as a bad mask is a sure way to land you with covid.
those below 1RM a pc are a High risk sure will fail the filtration test .

Currently only wearing KF94.

I bought Yukazan bought from Watson's - suitable for small face and women. Size is smallest among all KF94.

I tried Respack local brand. Bought from Caring. - too big for me, suitable for bigger face people. Lower chin might be loose if wear by women.

I bought from shopee single individual packed KF94 shipped from Korea. Brand : Ezwell (black color)
https://shopee.com.my/product/278009930/447...99-1630453930.9
This is the best compared to the above. Very thick and not easy to breath, which means it's good as it covers my face tightly.

Yeah. I tried Respack local brand. Not as good as Made in Korea bought from shopee direct shipped from Korea.

See my previous post, I can feel the made in korea quality is better, weight is heavier and thicker and FDA approved.

Currently I have tried 3 types of KF94

1. Airshell KF94 - 50 pcs @ RM79.00 (directly order from Korea, bought at Shopee)
2. Yuka Zan KF94 - 10 pcs @ RM 13.90 (bought at Watson)
3. KF94 (made in China) - 10pcs @ RM 3.80 (white green package, bought at Shopee)

Based on my experience;

Airshell and Yuka Zan is very thick and very comfortable to wear it.. never regret to buy.. got 4 layers (already cut and check layer by layer).. Love the design.. No more need to use double mask..

For the cheaper one, it's quite soft and thin.. eventhough its still 4 layers, but too thin for me.. dont dare to use it at crowded place..

On Respack KF94 Made in Malaysia, based on reviewer in Shopee, the mask quite thin and can see through.. So cancel to try it..

(referring to your quoted part above) strange thing is that it has all those certification but none are KFDA certified. And on the box, if it is CE rated, it should have FFP2 rating and also the CE mark like this

Really? Tried one today. I'm a mouth breather thus I don't smell the chemical at all (or not bothered). My wife bought this when a colleague bought and asked her to buy 1pack to try. However I never heard of it and since I got some voucher to buy Neutrovis KF94 slightly cheaper, so I bought few packs for her to try and I take the respack to try myself. She's one of those who suffers with pimples around the edge of the mask. So if this helps, I'm going to continue buying this for her.

I do feels its thin, similar to those my cousin who bought (non branded one) for less than RM1.

This one is for fat face people. Super big and seems thin. Of course thin or thick doesn't mean a thing if it doesn't filter well enough, need eq to test. Anyway I got this and worn this too big. I breathe and exhale the air will literally come out from the side lol.

Yes a bit big. I bought because of my dad😅 a bit loose on me but I am using it too after I seen its same exact mask sold in some Japan online store. So I don't think its fake.

For going places like GH or KKM clinic or PPV I will be using tight fitting Kn95 but using those I feel long duration might cause my ear hurt.

Saw this at Caring. Shiny box but 99%? Dunno how realistic. Even 3M claims 95% and that’s only with proper fit and usage.

KF99 is real. There are KFAD, KF80, KF94, and KF99 for Korea standards. KFAD is new for covid, more breathability. There is also KN90 and KN95 for China. N95 and N99 for US standards. FFP1,2,3 for EU and P1,2,3 for Aus/NZ. FFP2=N95=P2=KF94=KN95. P3 and FFP3=N99=KF99. However, N99 is really not necessary, lose a lot in terms of breathability compared to filtration, leave it for frontliners.

Thanks, looks like few people recommended this, I'll get this Airshell KF94.

Abit expansive but should be safer than surgical facemask + washable mouth cloth piece.

Ah thank you for info didn’t know about 99s. N95 already so hard breathe can’t imagine 99s. Think n95/kf94 plus face shield is best protection for most right now.

this kf94  is made in china .  my guess  .  and you can get genuine kf mask made in  korea ...

See FDA tests. Even those brands who passed 95%, same model different batch number also failed. Some 97% some 33% for exact same model. Seriously cannot trust their QC. Chinese manufacturing may sometimes pass quality test, but if don't do constant QC what's the point. But if do QC they say will be expensive. So better for everyone to just buy 3M straight or any other Malaysian made or Korean made mask, more peace of mind. At least you trust Malaysia and Korea certification.

yes true...
if fail the FDA sample test at point of import .. that brand will be under watch and bigger samples done the next time or totally ban.
i guess the mask materials use was not QC properly .or a bad batch that pass to production.

normal in factory with ISO standard ,
the production line do the basic test on all mask
next QA will sample test .
if come to USA the FDA also do a sample test .

china made mask got bad reputation of fakes and poor quality . expect this in the land of cheap fakes..
i notice some online sellers are warning of fake neutrovis mask .

This is a legit KF94. It's very thick. Not easy to breath. That means it's good cos it covers our face very well without gap.

The first time I wear I pening sikit macam out of breath. If just sit or walk in aircond place like shopping mall, it is okay. If wearing it outdoor it is very stuffy and warm.

Recommended for its good quality.

*
I think your vflex and aura description is terbalik. Aura is definitely more expensive as it comes in box of 20 vs 50 for vflex.

Only tested for BFE (ASTM F2101), not tested for PFE (ASTM F2299) which is smaller than bacteria at 0.1 micron. They should not say "equivalent" to N95 mask. Unless the mask is subjected to tests like an N95 and passed the same tests, they should not say that. And all info online I can see has no certification from Health Science Authority Singapore. I might be wrong about HSA certification for this mask as I didn't search their database, if you can provide source then I will remove this post. However, why would the SG army use a mask that is not certified by their own HSA?

ASTM F2299 / F2299M - 03(2017) Standard Test Method for Determining the Initial Efficiency of Materials Used in Medical Face Masks to Penetration by Particulates Using Latex Spheres.

The mask has a >99% BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency). The N95 is the USA equivalent of the European P2 and P3 masks with the P3 offering the higher protection. The N95 mask has a Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE) of >95% @ 0.3 micron. ... Offers a >99% Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE).

These are not medical mask for Hospital setting. Just pay a visit to immigration in sg. They use the same mask but in different color code.Ill leave out why as the mask arent as indie designed and manufactured by the their state manufacturer. This mask is a clever use of fabrics.

if you consider n95 certification requirements in the context of specifications it does meet the requirements as the test is 95% particle filtration @. 3 micron. This is a fabric material that specifically cannot meet design requirements of other testing due to the fact is a fabric designed. This is clever use of materials to achieve an equivalent of those requirements.

Please kindly check the fabrique requirements for n95 testing. Its product spec material is non washable/reusable at current material technology. The test speak for itself for n95 equivalent protection. In fact our product exceeds requirements @ 99.8 % filtration taking the lowest number of the test samples submitted. With 4/5 samples coming in at 99.9 % filtration. The product tests results speak for itself.

You can request with intertek they will provide the certification. The company name will most likely be omitted to on your request. The design of it is by an independent, the mnufacturer is related to a state entity.

This is the best compared to the above. Very thick and not easy to breath, which means it's good as it covers my face tightly.

It takes awhile to accustom your lungs to breathe through a n95 mask with better sealing then a 3ply. Averagely fit person can be accustom to n95 within 2 weeks if used 4/5 days for more then 2 hours.

Never wear N95 before.

First time wearing this KF94 (korean made bought from shopee) makes me feel dizzy, lack of oxygen.

After a few times wearing only I get used to it.

Firstly, IIRC ASTM F2101 BFE test is based on bacteria, usually S. aureus at particle size of 3 microns, not 0.3 microns. ASTM F2299 or PFE testing is using particles, usually salt or polystyrene at 0.1 microns (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). NIOSH requirements for N95 needs to be tested for particle filtration. Again, you cannot say "equivalent to N95" when you haven't passed certifications and requirements that N95 masks require. The most you can say is BFE 99.9%, which is excellent in regards to BFE protection. Masks are required to pass both BFE and PFE for a reason(and fluid resistance and flame retardants, etc etc.), otherwise why manufacturers need to send for so many tests? And, you have not answered the question about HSA certification. This thread discussion is about good masks that are certified by KFDA or MDA Malaysia or FDA US or whatever. I believe people here want to buy masks that are first and foremost certified by the relevant authorities as people here are scared of Delta and fed up with Shopee and Lazada fakes.

Thanks for link but i only trust disposable stuff during pandemic. Never try cloth mask ever. Even shopping bag i used to be big proponent of reusable bags but after covid start, all plastic bag only. Easier throw outside of house near door.

Can still use reusable bag. Just need to make sure to sanitize them properly once used. It's still more earth-friendly than plastic bags. Use a spray gun (atomizer) and shoot the sanitizer to the reusable bag and leave it outside for some time.

Tbh atomizer also there is debate on whether it is effective. I use lysol/dettol spray instead. Am probably killing the environment these couple of years of the pandemic with plastic bag usage unfortunately. I used to wash the reusable bags every time but they are not made to be washed that often - the envirosax, rootote, rume types not like tesco jute/plastic type which are 100% not washable.

Aeon type ones are still better than normal plastic bags as theirs are bio-degradable. When exposed to sun, very quickly it will breakdown and becomes brittle. Then bio-degrade. If I recall correctly, it's made of plant-based material.

Hi, just to check, for the KF94, does it has good eletrostatic?
I was using Hwipure from lazada, solid electrostatic.
But when bought the neo-medical KF94, the static only on the side flap for nose/chin while the front main part, totally no static.

Can advise which KF94 having good electrostatic? Hwipure size too big for my wife. Trying to find smaller size KF94.

Thanks.

- Mask like N95 can filter 0.3 microns
- Coronavirus particle is 0.1 microns
- Mask like N95 and KF94 works using mask electrostatic absorption, meaning particles are drawn to the fiber and trapped, instead of just passing through
- Summary, mask without electrostatic will be significantly useless to efficiently filter coronavirus

By the way, Airish Plus, my sister bought it and tested, no electrostatic. So, I'm making a pass on Airish Plus KF94.
Per above mentioned, I'd tried on Neo-Medical, however, the electrostatic is not observed on main front part of the mask, just electrostatic on the two side flaps, so, I'm making a pass on Neo-Medical KF94 as well.

Any recommendation of KF94 with good electrostatic property ? Smaller size (to fit for female usage preferred).

Thanks.

Mask is only efficient with good electrostatic, otherwise, even N95 which having 0.3 micron is not efficient to trap covid particle with 0.1 micron

I didn't use electrostatic device to test the mask. Just cut paper into small bits and hold the mask above the paper bits if the mask could stick up the paper bits

One main reason why KF94 or surgical masks having expiry date is because the electrostatic will reduce, wear off over time. When this happened, the effectiveness of mask to filter virus particles will be impacted. Also, why the need to change masks when it get wet as electrostatic lost when got wet.

No need to cut the mask, the side facing outward (external facing side) should be able to stick up small bits of paper if it has electrostatic.
Electrostatic comes from the melt blown layer.

Go straight for 3m n95 confirm strong electrostatic, tested myself. Other brands like Honeywell n95 i tested very very weak electrostatic. Didn't test any kf94 because n95 is cheaper and better protection.

Got my Good Manner mask shipped by 11street korea via Lazada. Just realised that the mask has FFP1 stated on it even though it is certified by MFDS as KF94-level and by some lab as having filtration rate at 99%. Should I be concerned about it having just FFP1 standard instead of FFP2?
