Hello. Newb here for MHF2. HR2, and 5* Elder Quest.
I been using Rathian blademaster armour for 3/4 of the game now because it has the most armour and has quite alot of benefit including psychic vision and poison immunity. So yesterday decided to experiment other armour....like Khezu Armour. Khezu Armour set got 20 Thunder resistance...whereas Rathian has -10/-20 ...can't remember.
So i try experimenting fighting Khezu...but was surprised that my Khezu armour is damn useless against his electrical attacks! I was expecting 20 thunder resistance to mean i receive little to no damage but instead get 40% my life down. For Rathian armour...i receive only about 15% damage.
How does the resistance work? It seems to me it doesn't really mattter and i should just look at the armour value.

QUOTE(Kiraneko @ May 6 2008, 11:54 AM) I love the Rathian blademaster armor as well, mainly because of design. Anyway which electric attack did you experiment on? The "Blanka" attack, electric range attack or the electric jump tackle? I think Resistance does matter because one I fought Rathalos with my Brango armor and I got 1 shotted by the fireball (-20 fire) with full hp, but that didn't happen when I was wearing Rathian armor. (+10 fire?) Also I had a fun time with XlinkKai yesterday night, thanks you guys for all the help! =) Well for that case i think that's cause blango armour is very little defence compared to Rathian. Oh...i gonna go digital mall now and hopefully can find the wifi dongle recommended by everyone GW-US5Mini2G (damn long name) so i can start Xlink kai hunting. my xtag is "WoLF-[x]"
