i am a GS user, always has, since MH Online days in ps2 wink.gif (HR20)

for me, no matter what weapon you use, it depends on your skills.

even if the weapon have 1k+ attack attribute, if dont know how to use it, its useless wink.gif

be comfortable of the weapon that you use, for example some people say hammers pwned kirin every time, for me, i use tactical blade to pwned it. as simple as that. its not the weapon weilded, its who weilds it wink.gif

i couldn't have agree more~!

Well the success rate of a capture
boils down to how fast u can set the stun trap and
how good is your throwing arm XD lol

ahhhh...i'll never forget the feeling when i stand on the body of my first los/fatalis/lao.... cool2.gif

i still have problems beating the damn elder khusa...tongue.gif

the poison knife dont work long enough....tongue.gif
LAKUM: bow mmg lar hard to play...tigrex cannot bow him lar...damn hard...lol...
*
once u poison him. . . rush in and whack the head over n over. flash him down
with the flashbomb supplied, once he is down rush in and bash it until it falls.

once he flinch and falls to the ground, the windbarrier is off.... fall awhile

rinse and repeat till the horn is broken.
You have your DS so it shouldnt be a problem taking down Khusa

Well depending on what your fighting then we can recommend
there is no single best weapon for all occasion in the game
different get different jobs done.

but i think most would agree Devil Slicer, would be good
for a number of occassions early on.

my bro did it again =.=
brought him on a mission to fight basarios.
He killed the bugger just as it was entering the lava, I did not manage to carve anything other than the tail (machalite ore)
I got 1 basarios shell for the reward and my bro got a basarios wing(looking at the % to get it, I think it is something rare right?)
*
gah i had a similar experience. . . i land a last hit just right b4 plessy jumped and
voila~ dead fish in the ocean >_< no craves!

also can use on giant shan gaoren crab too...
go up the bridge and wait till it open the mouth...
jump in and quickly lay the bomb...u cannot carve... thumbup.gif
*
Actually u can, but there wouldn't be enuff time to place the bomb,
so take ur pick, Crave or Bomb.

alternately, u can get away with 1 crave and place 1 bomb.

Did anyone know that the longsword has a spirit sword unsheathe attack?
I jus found it out myself last night while playing.
You have to stand still and press R+triangle. Since most of the time you are running around, this attack seems rather useless but it looks cool when ur character uses it. And I think it also builds up a bit of ur spirit gauge even if u did not hit anything.
*
the spirit unsheathe attack animation is far to long for it to be of any use,
you'll probably get a whip in the face b4 ur hit actually lands on the monster.

and no, spirit bars DO NOT increase if u don't hit anything.
nor will it increase if u try and hit any of your fellow hunt mates.
