Apparently, the cat fighter can't join u in Treasure hunting, guild hall quest & lao shan + gaoren quest..
So u can only bring it in solo elder quest..

dont hit the horn 1st, let it get stuck whilst you hit its tail part.
then just hit the horn, trap and hit again.
i think he's weak to ice, iirc.

Use ice based weapons, it does more damage then water.
Don't be greedy with your combos.
When it started to dig underground, stop attacking or you may not have enough time to evade when it jumps back up.
Get an armor with HGE as you'll have a chance land some extra hits on it when it started to scream.
Pay close attention to it when it's underground and don't stop running as it'll suddenly starts to corner towards you.
If you're having trouble while his in rage mode, then use stun traps or flash to slow him down.
If you can't kill it, then capture it.

I just learnt that if you fight Diablos in Desert area 7, you can really abuse the piece of rock coming out of the ground in the middle of the area. Diablos cannot charge through it and you can trick it to get stuck there.

Something I forget to mention, not all monsters will limp when they're weaken. For example,

Diablos = Rarely limp, sign of weakness is it'll constant goes into rage mode every time you land a single hit on it, doesn't matter if it's from you or from small minion monsters. Even a single silly kick will send him into rage mode.

Monoblos = Again, rarely limp, sign of weakness is it won't goes into rage mode anymore when it's weaken

Piscine like Plesioth or Cephadrome fins will be flat down. Volganos body will stopped glowing red, Carapaceon like Daimyo & Shogun will stop producing foam in their mouths. Most Wyverns and Primatius will just start limping away when they're already weaken. You have to pay attention to all this sign if you're aiming to capture a monster.

To capture Lao Shan Lung, you'll need a 4 hunters team and place 4 stun traps and make sure all his legs stepped on them and you'll need a total of 32 tranq bombs. All MUST be thrown directly to his head!

Most Gunners prefer armors with Recoil+ and Reload+ skills. See that you can KO a monster now with Crag shot, the recoil skill really comes in handy for fast firing directly to the monster's head.
