sir, could you kindly brief us on how was the setup? lightings, placement, background / props.

i've love to learn about these.

Mmmm.. i see 3 lights. One main light from the right, a blue gel filtered from the left and probably a small strobe firing through a green gel filter on a white wall. Just guessing anyway, i love the combination. Simply wonderful work!

d 2nd pics is sweeeeeeT~ diz is 1 genre dat is far beyond my reach 4d tym being... can u suggest a cost-effective setup for such studio shoot?

categg already explained the lighting position, 3 lights used, 1 from rear left with blue filter, 1 from rear left with green filter blast on the backdrop, one key light from right. And this time he had the subject look towards the main light so that only little side of the face falls into the shadows.

It's simple to reverse engineer lighting, just look at where the shadows and illuminations are. If it was me, I'd use a snoot on the light with green filter, just personal preference

wow, i love the background

ic ic...since dont have studio lighting, might have to try this using the my DIY lightbox to see the results
now i need to find some LED to get the job done

btw the green gels was used with a honeycomb fired to the grey backdrop.


i think u can even try such setup with your normal flash guns.

how does one achieve a seamless background as this one?

placement of the lights and distance between subject and bg.

Do some research on flash to subject and background distance ratio.

btw meredzone, forget to use CTB on the main light when shooting with red background?

ok ok. was thinking if sifu meredzone could make known the distance between the subject and the background for the photos in page #1.
