This is my RX100 M5A.

Recently developed a weird problem, the moment I turn on it's focus locked and all the buttons on the back become unresponsive (click on them and nothing happens). Only the power button works.

Is it a software/firmware problem? Anyway, can reset the camera?

Or I have to send it back to service center to troubleshoot?

• Try another battery.
• Try changing to other shooting mode.
• Reset all settings to the default, need to do it in the menu though.

Thanks for the suggestions.

- have tried another battery, still same problem
- when camera is on I can't change the shooting mode. But if I turn off, change the dial, and turn on again the shooting mode will change. But problem is still there.
- too bad I can't get into the menu since the button doesn't work since this problem began

Take out the card and battery, let it sit for few days then try again. Try in movie mode first.
If still fail then have to send to service.

Check if there is a new firmware. Probably they might have identified this issue.

Just to update, in the end had to send in the camera to the Sony repair centre to fix. 3 parts were changed and total cost (incl labor) was RM235.85. Took nearly 3 weeks to get back my camera.
