Thanks so much Ryo' for being the detective and taking those pictures notworthy.gif

From the tree trunk, it does look like eucalyptus tree cuz eucalyptus tree trunk has all those patches and sometimes in watercolor like colors.

I think the ultimate test would be to break some fresh leaves and give it a sniff... If it smells like one, then it definitely is eucalyptus!

If they have chopped down some, where do they throw the trunk and branches? Mebbe I can go salvage some, haha tongue.gif

Btw, where is your apartment?

Good work!

Please pardon my noobness, how does a eucalyptus leaf smell like? sweat.gif
Actually I had tried to sniff its fresh leaf when i was still a kid and when fresh leaf still reachable sweat.gif
I still remember how it smells, and I kinda like it, haha.... laugh.gif
I don't know where they throw it, but definitely not within my apartment
My apartment located just opposite Sri Bintang Utara Cheras, it's called Taman Shamelin Perkasa
Come and take a closer look if you pass by smile.gif

Haha, no worries smile.gif

Eucalyptus is famous for it's essential oil, it is good to help relieve stuffy nose and cold. I think the best I can explain how it smells is that it kinda has a smell like "minyak angin" tongue.gif Hahaha laugh.gif

Aihhh, if they throw it nearby kan easy to collect tongue.gif

Ohh, your place is in Cheras... So out of my way, but if I happen to be there, I would definitely look out for the tree!

Thanks!

The leaves do look like Eucalypt. A good "smell test" is to break some of the fresh young leaves & rub them between the palms of your hands. If possible take a photo of the whole tree. Although some species of Eucalypt's have smooth bark some have very course bark. From what I have read ( but wont guarantee ) the most widely grown Eucalypt outside Aust. is E.camelduensis (sp ) River Gum. The reason is that it is a quick grower & the timber has quite a few uses.

Wah, I wanna go get branches liao. Can I meet you somewhere? Maybe you can gather some branches if it happens to fall down or if they chop the tree....

Haha... 5 years ago there was 5-6 eucalyptus planted in the garden, but now only left one
