Lately I've been seeing products that have big price difference on e-commerce sites. When questioned, the cheaper ones are from a different country. I'm looking to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and the price difference is RM500+ but it is a HK set.

Anyone here can explain the difference to me? Besides claiming warranty.

All device manufacturers work with local telco to optimize the phone firmware to adapt to the local telco network configuration. So if the phone has issue due to incompatibility will not be entertained by device manufacturers.

Specs wise, it would be the same. Main difference would be the warranty. Your imported set if require RMA would need to be sent back to the original country of purchase.

What other pros and cons between HK set and MY set? Planning to get Xperia 5iii.

So far what I know(if I am not wrong):

MY set more expensive, need to flash firmware for update, no 5G. Also I think if sales is good, would justify Sony staying in Malaysia, hence good for warranty and parts.

HK set cheaper, need to flash, no Volte, warranty an issue.

Any other things to consider?

Do all imported set phones don't support volte or vowifi?

I'm planning to buy imported samsung 21 with SD chipset, or probably asus zenfone 9. Since both of these phones are imported, I'm wondering whether they can support volte or not.

I am using Korea S 22 Ultra. Bank apps notification is working. Price cheaper by rm1.1k compare to SME set. Dunno about Samsung Pay. Never try. But all is good very satisfying. Good value. Original & sealed. Trusted seller I buy from. Good service too. Reply all my questions. 5G not tested cos no 5G Sim card with me. But 4G showing LTE.
