Ooo, peacock's tail? If it works, then I cari lor, decorate around their cage tongue.gif

Hmm, maybe cuz the peacock's tail got that top part which looks like an owl's eye, that's why they hate/scared...

Haha, but it is kindda funny laugh.gif

Lah... you Google mealworms pun ada lah heheheh....

In Melayu, kedai panggil ulat. You just cakap ulat je. Don't say cacing, coz they will bagi you jenis lain nanti hahahah.... Kedai jual ikan and kedai jual burung mesti ada.

For joeys you must introduce with cut head. This is to give it a taste since Lollypop has never eaten any insects before.

The food mix is a supplement. Means only 1 meal is the mix and only 1 large tablespoon. Fruits should be more. The best insects are crickets.

The best is feeding by hand. I feed my gliders by hand, both mealworms and crickets. It makes bonding much better.

Now I am babysitting a friend's untame gliders, they even take mealworms from my fingers hahhaah....

Those big ones are called Super worms.... better just stick to mealworms and crickets. Whatever you catch like cicak or grasshopper for them is not healthy.

Castrate to avoid breeding. Do you know that it is quite suffering for a glider to give birth every time? Once or twice have babies in it's life is ok but every year? Till they are 8 years old? It is torturing.... also, we are not people who got no heart to sell of joeys that we see our gliders bring into the world. So it is better to end suffering.

This is same with dogs, cats, most mammals. Since gliders cannot be separated, if got male and female, castrate the male. This is why we keep single sex pairs is the best.

It is not cruel, inhumane and dumb to neuter or castrate. It can make their life easier and longer.

QUOTE(broken_string @ Sep 16 2007, 05:09 PM)
hi all sifu

the first two day i feed mix to my joey and its poo is quite solid
then i started to feed it fruits as well, watermelon and honey dew but its poo become wet and watery like, even dirty the pouch sweat.gif

lucky got tissue inside. any solution? or should i feed mix as staple food and fruits only occasionally ?
*
Watermelon, it makes the poo watery loh hahh.... fruits needs to be fed everyday, same as the mix if possible. Feed fruits in the morning and mix at night, or vice versa. Up to you lah.

QUOTE(Taipan1 @ Sep 16 2007, 05:16 PM)
I dont think the grasshoppers they breed to feed rep's & other animals are the local garden type - I think they are bigger
If you like I can send the relevant pages from the above mentioned book on how to breed & collect the eggs
*
Bigger? I did see large ones before, can say almost 3 inches in length, it was yellow and spotted with black.... is that the species?

QUOTE(dai86 @ Sep 16 2007, 05:21 PM)
there is one grasshopper breeder last few years when i in form 6, cause we buy from him to use for experiment. but now i dunno still got not loh. but the grasshopper is big one, cost rm1 to rm2 each. huh.....
*
Wah... Rm1 to Rm2 each!!!! Imagine if everyday feed 1.... 1 month RM30 to Rm60 hahahah.

I think it would be hard to breed grasshoppers since it's hard to find here. Ah, nevermind, I'll stick to mealworms and crickets hahahah.

Vincent, feed the mealworms when she is on you. Don't wait for cage or when she is far from you. The best is bonding and feeding on your body.

Rm1 is alot... maybe 100? I can't even agak coz it depends on size. Some mealworms are young and small.... and they measure by small cups.... so no way to know how many.

I usually buy RM3, last me for a month hahahah.

Nocturnal mah hahahah.... this is normal behaviour... instinct behaviour. He still need more bonding time with you. Take him out when u on the lights, play with him and feed him.... then he will know lights means got fun stuff.... but it is natural for them to only play when everything is dark loh heheheh.

No, and I wouldn't try coz I already have the best stuff with me. Whatever pellets Pet Safari gets, it is either low quality or not even recommended by overseas.

Hahah... coz not many people make the mixed food for gliders here. Very few and those that make somehow became inactive already..... Most of them buy the mixed food from me.

As most of you know, my mixed food has no honey nor jam..... The sweetness is mild and comes from unsweetened fruit juices. So overall is healthier than add loads of honey.

If I do add honey, I only add 1 tablespoon.... not much.

High protein cereal is baby cereal. But many of the baby cereal available contains milk.... so not good. You have to find the ones with no added milk so normally Heinz is the right choice. Heinz do have a high protein baby cereal.
