Need to source +-RM2.5k laptop decent spec with AMD Ryzen 5, 14 inch screen and SSD.

Any recommendation?

P/S: price is the main reason of choosing AMD Ryzen 5

hang is not unreliable, might be due to no SSD

shortages are happening yet supply is high...what u expect

You should up your budget a bit, as you may not get a laptop with the specs that you need with too low pricing

I've had my Dell Inspiron for ~3 years now with no issues whatsoever, and I have upgraded the RAM / SSD

Well, the latest 1 was bought 1 years ago with i7 and SSD. It did hang and lagging. They come and replaced the motherboard but still the same. End up, i pass to cousin for student use.

Haiz, maybe need to wait more months since there is shortages of chip.

I used for some photo editing software, and some programming software.

Only with 8GB ram. never format on my own, since it is cover under warranty. But they did format one time when they replacing the motherboard

mayb the lag is caused by something else...like not enough RAM

but most consumers have no idea how to check or diagnose...

With an i7 + SSD it shouldn't lag at all

8GB RAM can be easily doubled with another SODIMM for around RM 200

The lag could be due to the normal Dell bloatware >>> I formatted my Dell right after the first boot up to activate Windows, to remove the bloatware

RM2899 with 16gb of ram and 512gb of SSD. I bought one for my wife the i3 variant though. really no complain after using it for couple of months. pretty sure it's build quality could be even better than some Acer.

PS: the metal finish is only at the top surface somehow the back are plastic that's a drawback at least for me.

Hi, I found this but RM300 more than your budget at RM2800.

The Lenovo Thinkpad E14.

This generations actually improve alot especially the screen, you should not able to get such spec/quality in this price range.

Ops, sorry my bad, I forgot I ve login using LenovoPro , That model is E14 Gen3, but the RM2800 spec not available outside LenovoPro, but RM3200 spec (5600U vs 5300U)

You can simply create LenovoPro account, just need any company SSM number, it is free. Sometimes they has great discount, and your accumulate spend can have more discount later. biggrin.gif
