Before this, meter tempered? Most of the time like this.

Actually u can roughly estimate your usage based on your electrical appliances.

We seldom use Aircon because dry air made us suffer from eczema outbreak

That is why we are very suspicious of it, I don't know if the meter is tempered with because it's rental, but the technician didn't made noise about it like our next door neighbour, they told them up front and ask them to sign some letter which resulted in argument

Is this legal?

your house 3 air cond impossible so cheap
i just calculate the letrik fee using 3 air cond alone
1hp + 1hp + 1.5hp , with each on 12 hours per days
its like from air cond alone alr 400
12 hours its abit on the extreme side , but my point is 3 air cond , your letrik fee only 100+ ? that doesnt sounds right
either its mulfunction or its tempeered

ermmm, who use aircon for 12 hrs a day? Me, maximum 3 hours. Ayam b40. I only use it to cool the room b4 going bed

Actually we spent more on cetaphill lotion than electric bills
Such long hours of dry air from Aircon would ko the whole family

1000 imp/kWh means that LED will flash 1000 times for 1 kWh.

There are 86,4000 seconds in a day. 2.6 million seconds in a month.

At a rate of 21s/blink, that means 123,429 blinks per month, or 123kWh. Which at 21.8sen/kWh works out to RM26.81.

At a rate of 40s/blink, that means 64,800 blinks per month, or 65kWh. At 21.8sen/kWh this would be RM14.17.

Not familiar with this model. On some meters, if you hold down the button for more than 3 seconds, it will display two decimal points after the kWh. On most homes, you should be able to see the numbers moving.

If your neighbour is stealing electricity, you should be able to see wires snaking from your house to theirs. They cannot steal electricity wirelessly.

If the LED is blinking every 40s, it will take 400s (just under 6 minutes) to reach 0.01kWh. Turn off everything. Check the meter. Waith 15 minutes. Check again. If it increased, then there is a problem with your meter. Get TNB to change it again, because this one is faulty.

Light bulbs are mix mostly t8 led, with t8 fluorescent that is not used frequently.
What used frequently has been changed to led, during bulb replacement, including the removal of ballast.

Only 1 fridge

Someone did just that, took down the last meter reading and went for a holiday. Came back and what a shock he had.

Is your unit terrace house or apartment? If apartment, someone may be stealing electricity from you by doing an illegal connection at the meter panel. Do a check with the building maintenance.

You can also go to TNB office and request your meter to be checked. TNB will install a caliberated reference meter to check the reading. If your meter is inaccurate there is no charge.

If owner has no b&w, is never easy to convince tnb. No point saying reduced usage this and that ....that is about every complainant reasons.

Just install a submeter to monitor for 3 to 6 months. Is not going to be exactly the same reading with smart meter, but should be close.

Nowadays, tnb will always replace a new meter for subsale just in case the former owner did something. Even if you are the 1st owner for many many years, tnb would have upgraded 2 to 3 times.

Of course, one cannot deny a minor possibility of a faulty smart meter .... that is why owner need a sub meter.

Your AC run how many days in a month?

I got 5 AC also bill averages 140+/- before AND after smart meter chang becoz I really hardly use.. then when weather too hot I use 2 or 3 nights of single unit AC bill went to 16x before all the discount.

Usage pattern i.e. set to 16C freezer vs set to 26C sensible temp also make a whole world of diff in consumption over 8 hrs.
