Blackwood is not bad. They got small packs so go on and try. You can also try California Natural herring and potatoes.... erm, a bit fishy smell but it is very good for skin problems.

Innova is better than Blackwood i think. or u can try to find other brand loh. If can try find those kibbles without corn, soy, meat-by-products, then ok lah.

Pets Wonderland doesn't stock California Natural. Only certain petshops that bring in holistic dogfood. Canidae and Acana are good too. Since your dog is sensitive, better not try Orijen.

Ethoxyquin is no good. Canola oil is Ok. Try avoiding brewer's byproduct, beet pulps, gluten materials.

You will have to get samples and let your boy try out if he's so picky. I once got my puppy Eaglepack's chicken sample, it smells nice compared to the other foods i went thru (not for myself) so far. You can give it a try if your boy is not allergic to chicken. It uses good source of chicken meat though, so less problem there. It also uses ingredients that are kinda Ok, except for some fillers, which most 3-4 star rated dog foods has it by the way, thus difficult to avoid unless spending extra for more premium foods.

Careful not to soak foods which contains citric acid for too long. No good for our pups. Make sure finish immediately and no left overs.

I didnt explore into Innova as it doesnt have any food with the meal type i was looking for my pup. Anyway, browsed around previously and realized that it is quite good depending on its range. Its premium ones should be on par with Solid Gold.

By the way, besides what i'm feeding my pup, i would opt for Blackwood's catfish and potatoe. Despite having some filler, it is food above its leaque, IMHO. I might switch to it once she's a year old.

Well, i would try my very best to give the most i can for my pup, so, balance between desire and financial would always be a conflict. But at the end of days, i wouldnt want to harm her unconsiously, so going the extra mile a lil more wont hurt, at least currently, as she's my first one, hehehe.

Most proly but am not too clear if there might be any other health issues with your pup. Maybe a check with a good vet would help???

By the way, premium food seem to be the bottomline nowadays. The market's talking about like super premium, ultra premium, hollistics, etc etc like that. Dont be fooled by those terms. Some really good manufacturer's dont even brag with these terms, while some below average manufacturer's would boost sales based on jargons as such. The ingredient list would be your best bet to getting the rite food for your pup.

Natural Balance by d*** Van Patten is a good dog food. California Natural is great too but I've heard Hun mentioned that it's quite bland.

Of course, fish flavored kibbles are more expensive. Evo is great like Orijen, it has high protein content. Innova is the minor version of Evo. I think you made a good choice with Natural Balance.

Casper and Moonie just finished (2 bags of 15kg) 30kg of Natural Balance before I swapped to 15kg Blackwood 3000.

It is safe. Almost every food be it for animals or humans can still be consumed within 4 months from the expiry date. As 15 March is still not even a month ago, still can be given.

Not every dog likes California Natural, it doesn't have a strong taste like some dog foods coz it is very natural with no salt. Other dogfoods contains sea salt or some sort of different sodium.

Natural Balance is good too. There are actually many good brands, in Singapore, way more and way better than what we have here.

Seriously, Natural Balance is so so only, thats my experience thru sampling and opinion to add on to some others experience. Tried its duck, fish and ultra premium formulation, not very convinced. Besides, got to know that it has quite a number of product recalls previously, making me feel that it might not be too comfortable for my pup's diet, despite its quite Ok ingredient listing.

It has very very little meat content (which is expected as it is more on allergic base diet). Most of all, its pallets are huge and hard, making it difficult to chump on, especially for puppies. It is also not very filling, thus our pups might have to consume more to burp.

Wouldnt really recommend it. It should be almost the same price with Blackwood (depending on location), thus Blackwood would be a better choice, IMHO.

Try not to exceed 2 years from its manufacturing date, that would be a safe guideline.
