QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Mar 25 2008, 10:16 AM) Blackwood is not bad. They got small packs so go on and try. You can also try California Natural herring and potatoes.... erm, a bit fishy smell but it is very good for skin problems. I cant find California Natural here,Blackwood and Innova is the best brand i can find around me hmm....i'm now soooo confusing, heard that 'canola oil, menadione and ethoxyquin' is not a healthy thing for dogs.Blackwood does contain those three stuffs inside,it doesn't state tat it is ethoxyquin-free,so consider it has?? sumone help pls!!! If can try find those kibbles without corn, soy, meat-by-products, then ok lah. QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Mar 26 2008, 11:57 PM) Pets Wonderland doesn't stock California Natural. Only certain petshops that bring in holistic dogfood. Canidae and Acana are good too. Since your dog is sensitive, better not try Orijen. What is the price for California Natural?? |

I cant get California Natural then,my dog now is on BW 5000,that's the last 3.63kg pack in the pet shop, the owner claims that BW company were lack of stock?!how come...-.-
I ask if them still bringing in Innova? ''Not much ppl is finding this brand..''that's her ans..>.< hmm...shall persuade her to bring in...If not, then have to ask mum to order online,i thk she wont agree with it hah! Anyway, anyone heard of Nicki dog's milk??safe to feed?coz i cant find Pet's Own Milk around except ordering online. Added on March 31, 2008, 11:42 pmFor those who are feeding Innova or Blackwood, how much did you all buy for ?how many kg? This post has been edited by arieliss: Mar 31 2008, 11:42 PM |

QUOTE(KittyKat @ Apr 1 2008, 09:49 AM) Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken Puppy My boy now is on Blackwood 5000 the catfish and potato formula,it is surely very very expensive!the ingredients is not so impressive also!I cant get EaglePack in my area, the most quality brand available here is Innova, second is for Blackwood, but dunno is the petshop owner still carrying Innova anot...and there's sumthing i'm concern about Innova.Did you heard about Innova contains Acetomenaphine inside their ingredients?? Added on April 1, 2008, 10:02 am Ethoxyquin is no good. Canola oil is Ok. Try avoiding brewer's byproduct, beet pulps, gluten materials. You will have to get samples and let your boy try out if he's so picky. I once got my puppy Eaglepack's chicken sample, it smells nice compared to the other foods i went thru (not for myself) so far. You can give it a try if your boy is not allergic to chicken. It uses good source of chicken meat though, so less problem there. It also uses ingredients that are kinda Ok, except for some fillers, which most 3-4 star rated dog foods has it by the way, thus difficult to avoid unless spending extra for more premium foods. Added on April 1, 2008, 10:07 am Careful not to soak foods which contains citric acid for too long. No good for our pups. Make sure finish immediately and no left overs. Added on April 1, 2008, 2:32 pmForgot to mention,I saw it from itchmo.com and thepetfoodlist.com bout Innova. This post has been edited by arieliss: Apr 1 2008, 02:32 PM |

QUOTE(KittyKat @ Apr 1 2008, 04:42 PM) I didnt explore into Innova as it doesnt have any food with the meal type i was looking for my pup. Anyway, browsed around previously and realized that it is quite good depending on its range. Its premium ones should be on par with Solid Gold. Hmm,hehe, but the Blackwood catfish formula is quite expensive because it is fish based??Haha, nice to hear that you are so caring for your pup, lucky little one! By the way, besides what i'm feeding my pup, i would opt for Blackwood's catfish and potatoe. Despite having some filler, it is food above its leaque, IMHO. I might switch to it once she's a year old. Well, i would try my very best to give the most i can for my pup, so, balance between desire and financial would always be a conflict. But at the end of days, i wouldnt want to harm her unconsiously, so going the extra mile a lil more wont hurt, at least currently, as she's my first one, hehehe. Added on April 1, 2008, 4:49 pm Most proly but am not too clear if there might be any other health issues with your pup. Maybe a check with a good vet would help??? By the way, premium food seem to be the bottomline nowadays. The market's talking about like super premium, ultra premium, hollistics, etc etc like that. Dont be fooled by those terms. Some really good manufacturer's dont even brag with these terms, while some below average manufacturer's would boost sales based on jargons as such. The ingredient list would be your best bet to getting the rite food for your pup. Yeah, today went to KL and got into the SeaPark Pet Supplies shop!Wuu,there is sure a varies of brand! At first i tried to get my boy the California Natural, but then saw soooo many brands there,so we ask for samples.Hmm...then when we saw the kibbles, wow!so big! So,that owner intro us Evo which is a good and very high protein dog food.We talked alot bout Innova,Evo and California Natural.Haha, mum is consider bout the sizes of the California Natural kibbles,so,at the end,we ended up with the Natural Balance's sweet potato and fish allergy formula!Heard of this brand before?? |

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Apr 2 2008, 02:04 AM) Natural Balance by d*** Van Patten is a good dog food. California Natural is great too but I've heard Hun mentioned that it's quite bland. Glad that i have made a good choice, hehe! Of course, fish flavored kibbles are more expensive. Evo is great like Orijen, it has high protein content. Innova is the minor version of Evo. I think you made a good choice with Natural Balance. Casper and Moonie just finished (2 bags of 15kg) 30kg of Natural Balance before I swapped to 15kg Blackwood 3000. Oh ya,wanna ask sumthg,as today i got some sample packs from them, that is California Natural,Evo small bites and one pack of Natural Balance fish! But when I left the shop,I found that the sample of California Natural is expired!!!15th of March!! |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Apr 2 2008, 02:25 AM) It is safe. Almost every food be it for animals or humans can still be consumed within 4 months from the expiry date. As 15 March is still not even a month ago, still can be given. Yup,have to agree of it,they even have insurance for doggy too! Not every dog likes California Natural, it doesn't have a strong taste like some dog foods coz it is very natural with no salt. Other dogfoods contains sea salt or some sort of different sodium. Natural Balance is good too. There are actually many good brands, in Singapore, way more and way better than what we have here. Ohhhh,i see, dunno that food can still consume in 4 months after the expired!Haha, thx for giving this info!so no nid to dump all the thgs that expiry date is reach! Can still keepin it for 4 months! Hmm...Natural Balance doesn't list the meat as the first ingredient, but is overall quite good la the ingredients!hehe, salt can make the food more tasty so doggy will like to eat the food!!so California Natural is not attracting doggy! |

QUOTE(KittyKat @ Apr 2 2008, 07:55 AM) Seriously, Natural Balance is so so only, thats my experience thru sampling and opinion to add on to some others experience. Tried its duck, fish and ultra premium formulation, not very convinced. Besides, got to know that it has quite a number of product recalls previously, making me feel that it might not be too comfortable for my pup's diet, despite its quite Ok ingredient listing. Is it ethoxyquin free for their fish formula? It has very very little meat content (which is expected as it is more on allergic base diet). Most of all, its pallets are huge and hard, making it difficult to chump on, especially for puppies. It is also not very filling, thus our pups might have to consume more to burp. Wouldnt really recommend it. It should be almost the same price with Blackwood (depending on location), thus Blackwood would be a better choice, IMHO. Added on April 2, 2008, 7:57 am Try not to exceed 2 years from its manufacturing date, that would be a safe guideline. Hmm...the price is quite the same, but Blacwood contains menadione inside their ingredients, heard that it's not good. |
