I see... 'cause now the vet suggested me to change the food... I'm not sure which brand to change.... is thinking of the eagle pack.... any commend?
*
Vet highly recommend Science Plan one.. doh.gif But some good vet will not promote Science Plan.

Eagle Pack, choose any in the holistic range smile.gif

My ms is just 2 months old...so is it fine for my to feed him eagle holistic range or should i get the one from eagle pack for puppy 1?
*
Eagle Pack does has Holistic Select® Small & Mini Breed Puppy Formula, newly launch. Not sure anybody carry this?

Have a look at Innova puppy too. The ingredient is not bad. Better ingredient then EP Holistic LOL..

If you want some all life stage food, Canidae is also not bad. The only thing is, not all dogs like the bland smell.. since your dog is so young, he might b able to get used it thumbup.gif

I dont think that's true. I've only heard that milk contains calcium which are good for the bones, nothing to do with the fur. Besides, once your dog is weaned (means sold to you) milk isnt really required after the age of 8 weeks.
Soaked but not too wet kibbles will help strengthen your dog's teeth.
Acana is ok. You can try Natural Balance, Evanger and Back to Basic! Back to Basic got PORK flavor!! brows.gif
Natural Balance, Evanger are my two favorites. I feed my 3 westies these 2 brands most of the time.
Blackwood and Nutriedge are my least favorites though because both bags also I encountered white worms in them.
Wah elsie2602, you change a lot wor!!
Mochi, are you talking about US Regal or something?
Dont get scam by what the pet shop owner tell you oh.
*
weaned means no more mother milk blush.gif I strongly belif the puppy milk out there is for those unfortunate babies that couldn't get the milk from the mom. Other then that, not necessary for dogs to have milk.

Added on November 2, 2008, 11:25 pmI think I changed more

Science Plan (from breeder) > Canidae (normal) > Nutri Source > Canidae (lamb n rice) > Orijen.. innova next.

my other girl had royal canin hypoallergenic (vet diet) and now on HCF (homecook food)

just bought orijen for my shih tzu of 3mths old. after consuming like 3-4days..

her stool is very soft.. is that normal ?

i feed her 3-4times a day each time about 3spoonful (the chicken rice spoon). is that because of the high protein level 42% ?

and now she shits more often also. last time one time in between meal. usually 15min after eating. But now she shits like at times twice in between meals. is that normal ?
*
it is normal if her routine changes in the first few days of taking new kibbles because her system need to get used to it. If after one week the stool is soft, then this may not be suitable for your dog. Do you mix with old food when you introducing the new food?

Feeding high protein lvl food you should decrease the amount recommended at the packing.

anyone have tried the Addiction Raw Dehydrated food?? Good?
i saw it selling at my Vet there....
*
Some say good some say not. Sames goes to all other brands. It still depends on individual. Ingredient wise, it is a good product.

i think that must be it coz i didn't mix the old food (ran out). but so far day 4 or 5.will see how it turns out in a week.
*
if old food run out, and introducing a new food (especially for puppy) feed in small amount, more meal. Say one meal 30 biji, u seperate to 10 biji, give after half hour another 10 biji, another half hour 10 biji.. let him slow slow digest. 3 months puppy recommended 3 meals a day oh! Meaning if 1 meal seperate 3 time feeding, u need feed 9 times tongue.gif because some puppy have really sensitive stomach.. but you need to do this just a few days la..

So many choices... make me don't which brand to try out... rclxub.gif
I think Addiction is kindda expensive...
*
Addiction dehydrated equals to canned dog food, just that addiction dehydrated is without water. That is why the price is higher then kibbles.

Any brand starts with named meat meal (chicken meal, salmon meal, lamb meal etc but not poultry meal) with (or without) quality grains (ie brown rice, rice, oat, barley and not ground rice, ground oat or brewer’s rice, ground yellow corn, corn gluten meal etc). If you are getting fish base kibbles, get those with ethoxyquin-free, a kind of preservatives that causes allergy to some dogs. Avoid animal fat, but chicken fat is alright blush.gif

That's kinda the basic hmm.. I hope you understand icon_rolleyes.gif

The review thingy is just a guide. It teaches you how to read the ingredients and how to compare the quality of food. The higher meat content it is, the more stars it is given. However, not all dogs need so high protein. Choose a lower protein level food, WITHOUT those bad ingredient in it, example by products and unknown animal fats.
