You going aggressive the question, I needn't take this devil and all trouble to explain matters to you. By the way I never have question ask you to answer it. I dont care what you try to said and this is forum should not try to aggressive.

Did I sounded aggressive? I'm not the one who put up fonts in red and enlarged, you know?

I thought you didnt know White Palace so I'm just pointing out. This dog forum used to be more active with pros like them but nowadays you see them less. Just trying to be helpful because I believe Yang can explain better than remymj on Orijen. Sorry lor, if I answered your Q. I should have left it for remymj to answer. I thought you wanna know about the kibbles, so I just point you in the right direction. That appeared as aggressive and devil?

I'll try not to reply to you then. Thanks.

Acana Acana Acana...........
no soy, no wheat, no by-product, no gluten.
28% protein for adult, higher than normal kibbles, lower than orijen and evo.
Got air-tight packing for 3kg pack.
Got Salmon, Chicken and lamb.
Price not too expensive.
Currently my choice.
*
Oh, I've tried Acana too. The blue bag. Acana is actually from the same manufacturer as Orijen. Strange thing is I dont know why dogfoodreviews.com put it at such a low star. I think it's quite alright!!

Do you think it's a little oily?

It's actually a good practise for your dog to try different types of kibbles over time. I change brands every pack as well.

For example, chicken and rice from Eaglepack and chicken and rice from Evanger may be different in their nutrient contents despite they used the same "material".

Any problem with chicken fat???
*
Got.
1. It's fat and as all already know, fat is bad for health
2. Indoor pets get fat easily because lack of exercise, walking and running

i heard that doggy tat drinks milk got nice fur!...
*
I dont think that's true. I've only heard that milk contains calcium which are good for the bones, nothing to do with the fur. Besides, once your dog is weaned (means sold to you) milk isnt really required after the age of 8 weeks.

QUOTE(ifeel100 @ Nov 1 2008, 01:22 AM)
Puppy still not yet fully growth his teeth yet, so cnt ite on the kibbles. blush.gif
Unleast i soak in milk & feed it in my palm. If not, he wont eat at all...  sweat.gif

Any1 suggest a gd puppy kibbles bside than ACANA? Wanna try other brand, after tis finished  rolleyes.gif
*
Soaked but not too wet kibbles will help strengthen your dog's teeth.
Acana is ok. You can try Natural Balance, Evanger and Back to Basic! Back to Basic got PORK flavor!! brows.gif

QUOTE(fernando torres @ Nov 2 2008, 08:43 PM)
i have changed Eaglepack to Nutriedge n now is feeding Orijen
many ppl recommended this brand 2 me.
what else?
*
Natural Balance, Evanger are my two favorites. I feed my 3 westies these 2 brands most of the time.
Blackwood and Nutriedge are my least favorites though because both bags also I encountered white worms in them.

QUOTE(elsie2602 @ Nov 2 2008, 09:00 PM)
me from nutriedge(not finish) to addiction to acana(2 weeks onli) and orijen now changing to Innova
*
Wah elsie2602, you change a lot wor!!

QUOTE(^MochI^ @ Nov 2 2008, 09:50 PM)
innova tht good a? 15kg how much?

i noticed a new brand from the petshop that i bought my shampoo from. The kibbles are known to keep red coats dogs to maintain their fur color well and preventing it to fade. Red coat will become deeper.
The shop owner says got 1 customer bought home and try on her apricot toy poodle then after 1 week , got noticeble improvements on coats color. become more deeper already the color.

i gona try on that 1.
*
Mochi, are you talking about US Regal or something?
Dont get scam by what the pet shop owner tell you oh.

weaned means no more mother milk  blush.gif  I strongly belif the puppy milk out there is for those unfortunate babies that couldn't get the milk from the mom. Other then that, not necessary for dogs to have milk.

Added on November 2, 2008, 11:25 pmI think I changed more

Science Plan (from breeder) > Canidae (normal) > Nutri Source > Canidae (lamb n rice) > Orijen.. innova next.

my other girl had royal canin hypoallergenic (vet diet) and now on HCF (homecook food)
*
Yaya, that's what I'm trying to say. No milk required after being sold to us.
Should be strong enough.
In the span of 2 years, I change a lot of kibbles brands too!

QUOTE(^MochI^ @ Nov 2 2008, 11:41 PM)
no nah, not regal. Duno true anot so i gotta try on that 1 first, its rm55 for 3kg. i try with the small pack first to see whether its true anot. biggrin.gif btw, the petshop ownder show dogs 1. They have champion westies. And i can tell u i saw the westies, thumbup.gif

I've changed from last time orijen-> acana-> nutro choice-> eagle pack -> orijen(stop after hugo got skin problem)-> nutri edge-> going to be the new brand soon after they finished their 15kg kibbles.
*
What's the name of the new dog kibbles?
Where is their pet shop? I also wanna see their westie.

QUOTE(Yan @ Nov 3 2008, 12:47 AM)
just bought orijen for my shih tzu of 3mths old. after consuming like 3-4days..

her stool is very soft.. is that normal ?

i feed her 3-4times a day each time about 3spoonful (the chicken rice spoon). is that because of the high protein level 42% ?

and now she shits more often also. last time one time in between meal. usually 15min after eating. But now she shits like at times twice in between meals. is that normal ?
*
Obviously if you see some changes, it's not normal already la. Dont break her system thinking 42% protein is good. Some dogs cannot take it. I'd suggest you stop giving it Orijen and try something lighter

Dont be too dependent on a review. If you read carefully, the website you refered to is quite biased against some brands.

If your dog has runny stool problem after trying so many different brands, I think its time you bring him to a vet. Science Plan? So be it, as long as it doesnt give your dog trouble.

Can someone more familiar with BARF feeding create a BARF topic? I will really appreciate it if someone gives us some head start details such as:

1. Suggest the first BARF meal - should it be chicken wing or neck or what?
2. How should it be prepared?
3. Where to buy it? Is it OK to get from Giant / Tesco / Carrefour (cause not everyone has time for pasar pagi)
4. How will the first meal be introduced?
5. Will their stomach be able to tahan the change since their last meal was kibbles?

Basically, a BARF for DUMMIES 101 will be appreciated!! *cross my fingers and hope for such a thread* I am interested but dont know where to start. I plan to start a meal for them this Sat evening but what's the best choice? First meal, first time, feed what? Add what? How to encourage them to eat? I think quite unlikely they can telan since they've been eating kibbles all along, or would they just jump in and feast after being sick of kibbles?

No la, Seapark Pet Supplies no longer take Acana. I went there on last Sat to look for Acana also. Confirmed no more.

The aunty has Orijen. The place where they used to store Acana is not being replaced by Pinnacle and Artemis!

Hi mako, thanks for the offer but I dont need Acana anymore. I'm the kind who feeds my dog anything, I dont stick to a particular brand. If no Acana, any other brand also can. smile.gif Thank you.

I got it for RM39 for the 1.8kg bag from Seapark Pet Supplies, SS2. There is only the 1.8kg bag for Artemis now and Seapark Pet Supplies are the importers. The pet shop you visit probably get their stock from them too.

Artemis is still rated 6 star in dogfoodanalysis. I know that website can be biased and I tried Artemis, I find it OK. Nothing impressive cause I bought a small bag only.

My favorite brands are still NAtural Balance and Evanger.

I have never tried these two brands before and I doubt it's good. You should check out from the popularity above.

i'm feeding my pug Alpo..is it good?
is it ok to mix some dinner's leftovers?
cuz if not, my pug wont touch its kibble.
*
1. Alpo is not good. Whatever you can find in the supermarket is not good.
2. BRands to avoid - Alpo, Pedigree, Eukanuba
3. There is a kibble thread in this section of the forum, go with popularity of the lot and you wont be mistaken.
4. Leftovers are... ? Usually, human food is cooked with oil, salt, sugar, perasa, etc - all this is harmful to your dogs. Too salty will cause fur loss, sugar leads to diabetes, dogs can hardly digest oil so they turn fat easily, etc. It's best if you avoid human food on dogs.
5. If you dogs dont eat, take it up and continue the next day. Teach it the meaning of HUNGRY so he wont be so demanding.

men9huei,
We have no idea actually. We dont go around checking for the best price. Most of us probably go to the store most convenient for us. Well, if you are from Selangor, I would suggest you to try Seapark Pet Supplies as they are distributor to a lot of smaller shop around Klang Valley.

Seapark Pet Supplies is at SS2, behind the corner McDonalds.
