You dont know simple plumbing, electrical and furniture assembling work?

That is what I am doing on weekend and I am not in the construction line. I just charge cheaper than normal.

The last I did was install 3 outdoor 10 feet bamboo blinds and assembled 2 cupboards. I charge 300RM.

If can do, hang a banner outside your house or the balcony condo.

There's the usual insurance/unit trust consultant gig or reselling stuff online (I see quite a lot of chili oil sellers on Shopee nowadays)

Alternatively work smart, brush up your LinkedIn, share your knowledge via youtube or meetup, build up your brand. All of the above may get you the next job opportunity with another 20% increment or more which in some cases is more than a side income can generate.

Blogs aren't getting attention anymore unfortunately. I would recommend LinkedIn, virtual meetups or even video podcasts instead. If you have a blog then crosspost to LinkedIn.

As I mentioned, you want to build up your brand. Your target audience can start with your other fellow M&E engineer but as well as their bosses who are out hiring and the recruiters who may have some role to play in your future career.

Your topics should cover tactics (how to be a better M&E engineer) and should eventually lead to strategy (how to be a better M&E engineering manager) or anything else you might think would be useful. The key is to regularly write/contribute, and to do so you will have to do your current job well but not forget your own personal learning and development.

TS, I share the same views as this poster. You have to focus on creating the right type of activities and network on LinkedIn in order to springboard yourself easier into a better position in the near future. Use the extra time you have now (because of lockdown, WFH, less commuting time, etc) to be a LinkedIn super user. Your LinkedIn profile should be your focus and not your blog. Think how likely you are to be noticed by recruiters and industry professionals on both platforms. Good luck!

To be exact, you need to join relevant groups and contribute your ideas towards relevant discussions within those professional groups in order to get noticed.

stock investment is for the long term. never the short term even though u can do trading which is so risky. long term is better. i have seen people buying a long of shares years ago and now enjoying the returns. of course it's never too late to start. so if u have started, good for u!

u can check what's needed in the gig economy. i know some people get paid to do assignments for others. it also depends on ur ethics and willingness to do some jobs too.

the simple ones can be do survey... sell something like what others say. is there a hobby that u have that can also generate side income?

Right now I am doing Cryptocurrency, but everyone is telling me that it is too risky. I kind of agree, because the price can go up and down a lot. So far I am making money, but I am planning to keep it long term. Is this a good idea? Should I just sell soon?
