Hi Everyone,

I just lost my digicam last week. Its a Nikon Coolpix 4100.

Now planning to get a new digicam which is RM1000 - RM1200. I have looking at some digicams other than Nikon & Canon. My survey are Panasonic, Sony, Pentax & Fuji. I still dunno the feedback about this brands.

My criteria:

- good image ( important )
- 6 to 8 mega pixels
- quick shutter time ( important )
- not too bulky
- 3x zoom
- no need to be the latest model

Any comments given will be truly appreciated.

Thanks

WIth a budget like tat, i think u should consider Canon ixus series...like Ixus800IS or Ixus 950IS. Pretty good stuff-good performance, responsive and good image quality and also small size.

I have a sony W-55 but not happy with the image quality in low lights condition. Nikon, Pentax you would have to find out for yourself. FUji cameras are not bad also.... looking at reviews Fuji F50fd as a highly recommended one-good image quality-good image sensor.. performance wise so-so. I think u should check it out.also.

Ic..I'm also looking into the Ixus series..As I din own Canon b4 so i need more feedbacks....I also heard Fuji not bad..but stil dun feel confident in Fuji. Nikon the pix quality oso very good..only i dislike the respon time...takes too long..
So I need to ask around for Pentax...About Sony camera, isit the menu user friendly? Value for money?

If low light issue is under your consideration, I think it's better for u to go for Fujifilm - f31fd, f50fd.
