Seen the new Vios. The S model looks fabulous with bodykit. Love the steering and the centre console and the centre armrest.

However, the material feels cheap compared to older version, and oh the rear cabin still feels cramped like the older version except for the legroom thanks to the new floor design.

Steering should feels lighter now and a slightly more powerful performance thanks to the implementation of an EPS. That's all i can say for now. Will test drive in a couple of days.

Material quality. And i have sources that this is due to UMW's cut cost purposes. Damn UMW. And look at the front seats, the material inside the fabric is so thin that u can touch the "bones/skeleton" of the seats. doh.gif

Exactly... Try feeling the plastic and fabric trim of the door panel, it feels like the one in Myvi. Previous generation has that grade A plastic feel but the new Vios just don't have it sad.gif

But I do like the centre armrest and the gate shifter.

The look is still okay but the interior done by UMW. doh.gif  Even my friend in Toyota also say the new Vios will be dead. It's a chance for Honda to regain the market.

oh yeah.... i remember my friend saying tht, for long journey, the back seat people will suffer in the new vios...

it's so straight....

Not surprised to hear that. But the improved legroom will contribute a lil bit to reduce leg fatigue during a long journey.

A 2 hours ride at the rear cabin in my bro's old Vios makes both my back and my legs tired rclxub.gif

1NZ-FE is a timing chain driven engine.

U mean speed limiter? My bro tried 170km/h on his 2006 Vios before, so i don't think it has a speed limiter...

- exterior, Vios looks much better than Latio.
- 1.6L vs 1.5L - quite obvious who's the winner in FC

Comfort, I think Latio should be better but I don't give that much weigh to comfort,  as long as not like LMST or Viva.

Looks is kinda subjective, don't you think? biggrin.gif

While the Latio Sedan may look odd at first sight, i'm beginning to fall for it as time goes by, so may the new Vios. I may give a 2 thumbs up for the previous gen Vios, except for its cabin space.

What i love the most about this new Vios is the gate shifter, the centre armrest design, the flat floor and the implementation of an electrical power steering. However, it's disheartening to learn that the material quality felt like a downgrade from the previous version, yet priced expensively with minimal accessories installed. Hopefully these issues could be solved in the future facelift model.

Oh, does anyone here knew that the Vios in Brunei has a rear skirt installed for the S spec?

if you purchased a car E-spec, will you remove the E-logo, so that other people won't know your car spec?
I saw a car just now...

You have to complain alot. I wonder whether those CKD models quality is getting worse.
The only complain I have with the Vios, is the integrated audio and the 10sec fan belt noise on cold start. tongue.gif

Tat 10 sec fan belt noise also plagued my bro's 06 Vios. Changed once, the noise came back again after a few days.
