QUOTE(jackoz @ Mar 5 2009, 10:13 AM) of coz u can service outside, but ur warranty will be void. can we buy the engine oil and parts ourself ( sure is toyota ori 1 ) and let service center use it ? so that we only pay labour charge ?? coz i saw some forumer selling at low price than service center.. Added on March 5, 2009, 10:29 amQUOTE(xenothrix @ Mar 5 2009, 10:26 AM) by now u should hv received at least 3 survey forms. if u fill them up n return to umw, u will get about RM60 rebate. 2nd service is about 90 something also coz only change lubricant n leak plug gasket. in the end if u choose to use the e-vouchers u will only need to pay rm20+. that was wat happen when i send my car for service. toyota trd sportivo looks will b launched by umw soon on a local car blog. kinda interested to c how J is going to transform into sportivo... HUH?!?! what is that ?? where to get the form ?? Service center give ?? i got sms from toyota but i ignore it ... This post has been edited by kayap00: Mar 5 2009, 10:29 AM

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Mar 5 2009, 07:22 PM) When I had my Vios, I stopped using mineral oil after the 1st service, so I can't tell you if it is better for the car engine. But I can tell you for my Corolla, the engine sounded and felt unusually harsh on mineral oil. Many of the new Corolla owners experiened the same harsh feelings as I have but this problem was retified the moment we switched to fully synthetic oil. Not only was the harshess gone, the overall driving experience just felt better. One of the other advantages of synthetic oil is you only have to service your car every 10k so it's a time saver. then my 2nd service will ask them to put synt. oil for me... thanks for the info.. Added on March 6, 2009, 8:49 amQUOTE(jmunchar @ Mar 6 2009, 01:08 AM) Most of the time the form will be sent via email with a link to their website. That's what i usually get. I don't think they will sent via post anymore. mine just got sms only.. no post and no email from them... maybe later i will check with them... QUOTE(zweimmk @ Mar 6 2009, 08:50 AM) I suggest doing so in your 3rd service instead. That way, you would have driven the car long enough to give you a very clear idea the difference between mineral and synthetic. There's always a small likelihood that synthetic oil would have no noticible difference at all for your car. For me, I only switched on the 3rd service (10k) and the difference was immediately noticible. i drive bout 100km every day (jammed location) but is it ok for me service at every 10,000km using synth.oil ? or need to short it like maybe 8k??

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Mar 6 2009, 10:27 AM) That's up to you but synth oil can last 10k or more. I went on 15k interval after my 4 service. no problems at all. wow.. thanks for the info... must use synth oil...

QUOTE(jmunchar @ Mar 23 2009, 08:55 AM) Doing your service every 10K is not a problem. Especially if you are using Fully Synthetic engine oil. I do mine between 5K - 8K. Even though i use Fully Synthetic oil, bcuz of my high mileage. how much it cost for fully synt oil ? mine oso high mileage .. normal oil bout 60bucks .. 4-6 weeks sure reach 5k km oredi.. if fully 1 not very expensive and can last till 10k .. then will use it on next service...

QUOTE(Dante18 @ Mar 30 2009, 11:14 PM) 55% are mid range tint....Aircool. Vcool or 3M that blocks out 97% UV light are high end tint. Which is also much more expensive. 3M and Vkool very nice but not smart tag friendly and $$$$$... still looking for others tint .. else 3m is my final choice ... i think eco tint got 1 is 10 years warranty and heat reject quite high oso ... but donno the quality .....

QUOTE(low98944 @ Jun 15 2009, 11:13 AM) That rim are sport rim? I owned Vios G but that rim give me feel like normal rim. I think Vios E rim is better looking... Added on June 15, 2009, 11:35 amFor Toyota Premium Mineral and Synthetic Formulation, it is SL/CF and for Toyota Full Synthetic oil, it is SM/CL. For details explanation for Engine oil, please refer this Bible. By the way, can we bring third party engine oil to Toyota and ask them to change to third party engine oil during services? I plan to change to Mobil 1 0W-40 in future service. thanks for the info.. but cannot digest "the bible" ...
