dear all, do u all know if to change steering wheel will it b costly???????? i mean for those original steering with volume adjusted button
*
if u changing steering you wont be changing back to the original steering with volume adjust rite... futhermore these volume adjust only compatible with OEM HU from Toyota and by doin this u need to reroute the cable from HU again as the wiring is not provided.. I would recommened u get a MOMO steering for Vios J... it looks cool compare to ori... sweat.gif

Just curious, anyone who already owned a Vios J here?

I was thinking of passing my friend who recently booked a Vios J my set of 14" Toyota sport rims that came off the previous version of Vios E. According to him, service centre says that even changing the stock steel wheels to sport rims of the SAME diameter(retaining the stock tyres) will ALSO void the warranty for the suspension parts. Is there actually truth to it or it's just total bull?

Thanks in advance.
*
I think it shouldn't be a problem as the wheel size is the same 175/65R14

it's stated in our Owner Manual that our gearbox is using Toyota WS ATF. i've yet to change my gearbox oil yet coz my mileage is only 6000km.

so maybe those new vios owners who had hit 40,000km already and have changed their ATF could shed some light?
*
FYI New Vios Gearbox has been improved with some new technologies.. that is why the Gear oil was using the WS ATF which is the same as the New Camry rather than ATF IV...
Toyota only recommend the Gear oil to be change after 110,000KM instead of changing it every 40,000KM this is to show Toyota commitment in quality and assurance for affordable maintainance of the vehicle.

altho they stated 40k or 110k its best to change every 10k or 20k once..i mean we will use the car every single day..and the amount of use changing gear are uncountable..some vios owner already change their ATF every 5k this to make sure the gearbox are in good hands..even every 5k or 10k the oil are dirty but acceptable..imagine if ure ought to go for 40k..this is just my 2sen
*
Changing every 5k ATF? The service center would be happy if u really wanted to change the ATF for every 5k but the problem is whether izzit worth or necessary to change it every 5k or even every 10k. as per recommendation is 20k-40k and flushing every 40k.. That was for the old vios.. The new vios the recommendation is every 100k and I am sure that the manufacturer have the fact to support their recommendation on the gear oils changing sequence if not the wouldn't have announce it to their owners.. sweat.gif

saving more fuel? hmm.gif

Honda City IDSI is the most fuel saver... but if u would compare the City Vtec with Vios, then Vios FC is better than the Vtec..

Hi, I've placed deposit 3k with toyota but decided to withdraw the deposit due to financial limitation. Since toyota does not allow refund of deposit unless the loan is rejected & unfortunately my loan was approved, i would like to transfer my deposit to another buyer. Anyone planning to buy a toyota? I'll transfer the deposit at 2.8k for 3k. Meaning u only need to pay 2.8k for a 3k deposit. I dont think there is a timelime for u to get the car.
*
The deposit is not allowed to be transferred to other buyer e.g friend or colleagues except to your immediate family and with proof..
You can write in a letter the reason you wanted to cancel the order e.g you have financial difficulties.. Then they will send for approval in HQ whether to full refund or refund with RM200 deduct for admin charges.. but subjected to approvals (normally can approve one lah)... brows.gif
* With 1 condition your original receipt for the RM3000 deposit have to be present.. thumbup.gif

I think that's a bullshit from the sales agent. Refunding should be allowed unless sales & purchase agreement documents were signed.
*
When u sign the order with Toyota the order form (RCO) you sign is an sales and purchase agreement...
Read Clause No 6 behind the order form and u will know why... whistling.gif

i wanna ask a question here about vios j..

from the spec, vios j don't have pretensioner seat belt.

Can i install pretensioner seat belt at accessories work shop?
if yes, how much?
*
It is not necessary to install pretensioner seat belt because J spec has no airbag.
pretensioner will be function after get signal from your airbag.

Front Impact --> Airbag Sensor (severe Impact)--> seat belt pretensioner --> airbag deploy

This is the way I service my car.
This one I'm not sure, normally they will just recommend you to use their own made engine oil. It's better don't bring your own brand engine oil to there. If you wish to use your own engine oil except Toyota brand, then go outside service better. Less waiting time and also less labour charge.

One more thing, if you think of using other brand of engine oil, for me if I have this kind of mind, which means I'll not go back to service my car at SC anymore.
*
If you bring your car to Toyota Service Centre you are actually not allowed to bring in other engine oil..
But I would recommend u use back Toyota engine oil for Toyota cars.. as I can say its the best match to ur engine..
