QUOTE(barrylin @ Mar 6 2008, 04:15 PM) I have the wind noise and engine noise problem. Too noisy liao. Ways to solve i duno. Actually it not the wind noise, its the tyre sound. Try moving your car, then when you near to a junction engage free gear you will hear the tyre sound, if for engine noise even free gear also quiet noisy.

QUOTE(barrylin @ Mar 6 2008, 06:18 PM) If you say the tyre sound i not very sure liao. Do you know that diff spec got diff tyre? What spec are your. About the engine sound cannot do anything cause the engine too near to the datch box liao My is a 2008 vios G spec with bridgestone tyre, i actually prefer michelin than bridgestone becos both tyre i have use before, for bridgestone is harder and noiser, but cornering is quiet stable, for michelin the tyre is softer and more quiet, but be careful about michelin tyre sidewall they can burst. Dont bang on big pothole or bang the tyre sidewall, another thing the tyre is a bit expensive. This post has been edited by Dickong: Mar 6 2008, 10:35 PM

QUOTE(dstl1128 @ Mar 13 2008, 08:43 PM) Around 1500rpm on cold starts, some times even very close to 2000rpm with aircon on. I just couldn't care... just drive away. Normal idling is around 650~750rpm. I am getting the same rpm like you, question is, with high rpm for cold start is not good for the engine becos the engine still not set up yet, moreover consume more petrol. Anyway did you ask the service exec. to check when you go for first service, my yet to go for the first service, maybe i will ask the service exec to lower down the cold start rpm, hopefully it can be done.

QUOTE(dstl1128 @ Mar 14 2008, 02:59 PM) Don't worry it will damage the engine. On cold start, the 1NZ engine will run slightly higher idle rpm and also in the same time richer, to faster heat up the engine and also reduce the wear. Anyway I'll try to monitor the idle rpm more closely now. Tell you what happen when engine left overnight , the engine oil will sink to the bottom, so when the next morning high rpm start what will happen, well the engine oil will slowly rise not immediatelly, before the engine oil can be spread over the engine normally lower rpm is better, becos engine will last longer, coming back to your statement what do you mean, dont worry it will damage the engine

QUOTE(blinky @ Mar 14 2008, 05:45 PM) Guys, I just realised that, after I lock all my doors, the driver's door still can open. I just pull the lever and the doors will be automatically unlocked. Is this a feature or fault? Also, the tweeter cover and the pillar on the driver's side popped out. Anyone facing this problem? Pull out the whole cover slowly and hiding behind the cover is the tweeter, just twist a bit to one angel and then put it back n done my also the same, actually the cover is not screw type the plastic pin type, try it becos i have done n it works This post has been edited by Dickong: Mar 14 2008, 06:34 PM

QUOTE(changshen @ Mar 16 2008, 12:06 PM) Just put in my booking yesterday....got special offer for Vios E version... the side mirror now have signal light plus electronic movement like G and S....the CD Player change to the one same as Toyota Wish..no more like the old one with big Lubang in between. So E version pricing now is RM500 extra....but got discount of RM1.5K from them... salesman said can get car within a week or 2...whoa..so fast....cannot be la...i think what he meant is upon bank loan approval... I think shouldnt be a problem becos normally March n April is a dull month for motor industry, thats why they give rebate.

QUOTE(Ken @ Mar 17 2008, 04:29 PM) wow, have to say this vios E really a great buy then ... make almost no different to G except the extra airbags, 15' rim and rear disc brake ... and some minor things ... If you were to calculate the different its a lot different, like fixing a 15 in rim n tyre that will cost you a certain amount plus the rear disc is where the calculation comes in, moreover the 14in rim n tyre look so small, sorry to say that , becos initially i also think that way, luckily my friend calculate for me the different or the worth to buy a G model. Not only the tyre n rim n disc, the 6 speaker, the player, the sterling wheel, the door side lining, the retractable side mirror with signal light, thats all i can recall, the rest you calculate.
