I don't think the warranty will be voided.  When i got my car, the salesman even purposely don't want to help me stick my road tax because he knew i wanted to tint my car.  But if you go and modify your car alarm, then the warranty is voided.  smile.gif

Hope other who read your posting won't get confused with wrong info
*
I agree with your statement, its has nothing to do with the warranty when you tint your car as i stated earlier, but still some of you guys still mentioning void warranty. I dont know why the misleading statement.

It's not the leather wrap, which I initially thought was the cause of the problem.

I think it's the mechanism inside the connector to the belt, damn noisy when I shift my body a little in the car.

Plus, I cannot go without the seat belt, the warning beep is much more annoying!

*
If i am not mistaken the warning beep will go away after some time but the seat belt light will still blink, try to press on your knee at the seat it might work.becos it work on mine.

My personal best fuel consumption yet. The bar started blinking at 605km. Usually 500+km already blinking.

Nice fuel economy!
*
So roughly 1km how much, mine 70% town n 30% highway, 1km average 16cts/km

For me 1.3L auto (MyVi) vs 1.5L auto (Vios), I think it is fuel saving enough. City drive is about the same (or even better) but Vios have better performance.

For highway, then Vios will be very good. I go Penang, when the fuel indicator just reach half-tank, my milleage is 375km. constant 120kmph.
*
I agree with you that driving outstation is very fuel econony, i did drive from pg to ipoh n back my consumption is only 13.5 cts/km n my speed average is 130kmh

Hi leowhy,

I agreed. I check through the tyre calculator that 195/55/15 will be -1.2% smaller while the 195/60/15 will be + 1.99% bigger overall..  biggrin.gif

Anyway, izit going to scratch the rear wheel arc using 195/60/15?? cry.gif

Anyone install 195/60/15 in New Vios b4?? icon_idea.gif

Thanks

notworthy.gif
Hi sphiroth,

Yes, The 195 is the width of the thread across but the 60 which is the height of the sidewall is calculated based on 195. If I remember correctly, the 60 is 60% of the width of 195. So, If the width is 185 and 60% of 185 will be slightly lower than 60% of 195...

Cheers

Make it simple n clear for you , 185/60x15- 185 stand for width, 60 stand for height n 15 stand for radius.

leowhy,

Yeap yeap...Thanks for the info... I do understand that when we travel at 100km/h then the actual speed will be additional 2% coz the bigger radius...

I think I will go ahead with 195/60/15 coz it will be much more comfy and just worried it will touch the wheel arc. I ask few tyre shops and non of them have any customer change to 195/60/15 b4.

Cheers ..

Through my experience the tyre will look a little bit like under inflate, secondly the cornering will be better becos broader tyre more gripe but the sterling wheel will be a little bit heavier. Well my x car Perdana come with 195x60/15- I change to 205x60/15.

bro dickong,

no offense but ur info got some error on the 2nd and 3rd part.

185 = width of tire in mm, this is correct
60 = % of width to get the side wall height. 60% of 185 and 60% of 195 will give different height on the sidewall as stated by leowhy.
R15= rim diameter in inches not radius. if R15 radius, means the rim is 30 inch edi tongue.gif

hey guys,

http://www.tyresite.com/tyrecalc.asp

check this site out. it will even calculate for you whats the original speedo reading and the actual speed ur moving if you use bigger circumference tires.

Added on May 20, 2008, 12:04 pm

hey dude06,

195/60 will give u broader tires for more surface contact patch and slightly taller sidewall compared to 185/60 which will give u more comfort. but the taller sidewall means more sidewall flex.

if comfort is your main priority, u can give it a try, no harm done.
*
You are right 15 stand for dia n not radius, my apology

done my first 1000KM service today at UMW Subang Jaya branch service centre...nothing much....since is only first 1000KM service

car is ok after collection..so far so good...

i think the main thing is dun let them wash your car...or else..everything will screw up....cause they give to so call "3rd Party Contractor"...actually is just normal wash..but with "Kain Buruk"...wash dunno how many cars already..

Anyway cost me about RM80+++ something only...i asking for Semi Synthetic...dunno they actually give me that oil or not...dunno how to read the code in the invoice...anyone of you here know?
*
It should be natural oil, becos my semi syn. cost me exactly RM114.40 for my 1000km service.

actually, better to use mineral oil for the 1st 5,000km. after that then change to semi. at least the SC charge u accordingly and never overcharge.

if im not mistaken, toyota SC uses Pennzoil engine oil. SM , SL , SF all these are API ratings. SM is currently the latest rating by API where as SL is for 2004 and older engines.

hey dickong,

do u know what brand of engine oil does Toyota SC use?? i read b4 they use pennzoil, and i checked the pennzoil info on the net and apparingly all its engine oil is API SM standard. unless if their not using pennzoil but some other brand?

to know more abt the API ratings.

http://www.api.org/certifications/engineoi...ilGuide2006.pdf
*
Actually the service center use all pennzoil oil becos they are the sole distributor for the brand, they give me back the balance oil together with the container, but brand Toyota Oil n saw the API SL standard only instead of the latest api SM

hmmm......unless Pennzoil specially made an engine oil for toyota? coz i went to www.pennzoil.com.my and its stated from their normal all the way to full-syn is API SM.

http://www.pennzoil.com.my/products.php?categoryid=3

hmmm.....how can we clarify this ah?
*
Thats mean Pennzoil lubricant is still behind time.

huh?? how can Pennzoil oil be behind time when it's currently API SM which is the latest standard? but the toyota SC use SL, that one behind time la. but from Pennzoil also wor.....

this is whats confusing me. toyota SC give API SL pennzoil oil, but at pennzoil oil website stated that the normal to the platinum series all exceed API SM.

rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Motul for the win tongue.gif have to wait warranty over only can use....
*
As far as i know Toyota lubricant is from Pennzoil, so written clearly on the container is API SL which i took home, if all Pennzoil oil are API SM then why Toyota Oil is API SL, its not kind of confusing its rather misleading or maybe Toyota is buying the lower grade type from Pennzoil so as they made more profit.

actually when most people said after pump this petrol, use better spark plug etc, their fc improve is not that true ...

example, press brake and accelerate again, it will led to more petrol consume ... drive 4 -5 people at once, also led to petrol increase ...
*
Actually some improvement but not very significant which sometime you dont really feel it, but talking about acceleration n load of course consume more , you have to compare apple with apple, but overall sum up not necessary becos the amount you save n the amount you spend on the upgrade is not justified.

hmm ... they should have input your service record into thei system, so the chop is secondary when come to claim warranty ... still, if you got time better go back and ask them chop, together with the receipt ...
*
I agree with your statement, the chop is secondary, but make sure they input your service record in the computer, if not when you go to other sc they might say you miss your service or you didnt come for service.

Send my car for sterling noise service, it take me f'''' 4 hours to wait there, ask them why, they said sound complain specialist is busy with other car, my personal view is complain or problem will do later but service like changing engine oil will entertain first, all sum up to $$$$ first warranty later.
