I have Restless Leg Syndrome, which worse at night. I feel the urge to move my legs about, and this includes feeling itchiness on the sole of my feet. This has been bugging me and my sleeping partner. She told me why do I have to 'swim' to put myself to sleep?? Only happens as I try to sleep, though. other time i feel fine.

Anyone else having the same condition? and is there any remedy for this condition?

hmm... do you do regular exercise? how's your daily routine? much moving around?

I suspect blood circulation related issue, but best consult doctors.

me no doctor... just my 2cents... good luck...

It's called self-soothing, you might want to exercise more, then you will be really tired( i used to do that also) once started exercising I stopped.

I don't do exercise per se, but i move around a lot, doing house chores. normally would take a break every 45min of sitting on the chair. the RLS became worse as i grow older, it was more able to manage when younger

could be dietary and age related as well... also mental/emotional related... very hard to say. better consult doctor if it's really getting out of hand...

what kind of exercise do you do, and is it to tackle specifically the RLS issue? or the RLS became better indirectly because of the exercises?

Are you exercising much or sweating a lot? Could be you are losing salts and then drinking lots of water but not replacing the salts. Try some bananas or some Himalayan pink salt in water, just a pinch to replace the lost potassium and sodium.

I dont do heavy exercise, only brisk walk, doing house chores and others. so not sweating much from exercising. so i am not sure if the loss of potassium and sodium is the cause. But will try consuming banana to try lessen the issue

I don't think is same. shake leg is more due to habit. but RLS is borderline between annoyance to the urge to scratch the 'itchiness'. happens on the sole of the feet, and runs along the ankle and above. this happens to me just before sleep, not at other times. and during long commute if I am the passenger

Try with having a pillow underneath your leg while sleeping or massage before sleep?
