Didn't one or both of them had some side businesses as well? Maybe that contributed to the stress levels they were having, and not from "just studying" per se.

Just week ago someone i know ex co-worker in Japan also died likely because of stress, felt unconscious, after few days died, in her late 30s, single. RIP
