beware yeah, me being cheapo try luck buy a 120ringgit HDD 2TB in shopee wow. haha since it has positive ratings with 500buyers i decided to proceed, and tadaaa i got rekt hahaha, inside 1 fake usb with fake 2tb ext hdd show up when u plug in to usb3.0 , and one metal piece to dummy the weight, just dont get it when people post up good ratings when they receive the product, should always test before clicking order received, well im filing with shopee for refund see how it goes

nope, its not even a logic board that connects to harddisk, i tot of using it to plug into my ssd or other old laptop hdd, but its a board that converts into usb , maybe i can put a pendrive inside but whats the purpose.

these hard drive scams are pretty common back in the day, didnt know theyre still around nowadays

you can try to complain to shopee and see if they can do anything about it, because it is indeed a scam

My Seagate Barracuda Pro 1TB 2.5" is a lot more expensive than that. I wouldn't trust random seller with questionable price.

The reviews are so misleading and rubbish. Does not work also can give 5 star

Also got possibility that the seller swap from ori to fake but at that price no way for him to get proper product.

my friend kena scam few weeks ago, bought a 2TB HP thumb drive for RM20 I think lol

1TB and above USB Drives are usually fake, there are genuine ones but no where near as cheap.

A lot of people are not tech savvy unfortunately

They plug in, see 2TB and okay works 5 stars.

Some don't even check, as soon as received, mark as complete, 5 stars fast delivery done.

Most users won't notice the slow speeds either

Some don't even know a HDD spins and makes noises, and vibrates every so slightly from the spinning

These fake drives have just enough capacity (around 4 to 32GB) to appear to work for the guarantee window.

And the seller can easily blame the user too for the non savvy.

"Oh maybe you unplug without safely ejecting"
"Oh maybe the file you originally have is corrupted"
"Oh try different USB port/computer"

This kind of credential I don't dare to buy from them.
Request return back with shopee, not with the seller. Reason is fake product. I think Shopee will want to take care their platform image.

So many 5 star review not even check item

That's normal what, most people doesn't even bother testing the HDD

I always see people complaining when they buy a 2TB HDD or 1TB SSD, they expect to get full 2TB of formatted capacity instead of 1.87TB formatted capacity for the HDD and full 1TB of formatted capacity instead of 930GB of formatted capacity for the SSD

Then they call the seller scammer

now waiting for refund la seller got few days to respond usually this kinda seller will wait the very last minute and come out with some special approach to trick you or lie to shopee , will see how it goes, cos this thing actually can work at 6-10mbps / and showing 1.94tb in capacity. people drag file into it can work then 5star give la haha. but when whole hdd corupt after exceed the dummy pendrive real capacity then only they cry but too late dy.

anyway just sharing my bad experience and lesson heheh dont look at the ratings ,i tot at worst this type of ext hdd uses refurbish drives, din know can clone something like fake sdcard and pendrive, anyway i also reported his product listing. cheers stay safe all

Damn, the seller is front page for "hdd" search in Shopee. Lets see what action Shopee takes to reimburse TS and the other close to 1000 buyers.

The drive casing seems original. I suspect that the seller shucked the original hard disk out and resold it somewhere. Then to make more $, filled with crap and resell with added pouch so that he gets 5 star rating.
