Hi all,

Been using Asus ROG Gl552VW-DH74 since 2017. Used to game on it but now turn into work laptop. It performed very well all these years, just need to change the SSD, HDD, battery and keyboard when they individually expire.

But now it has aged a lot and parts are harder to get. The fan is now not working and causing the CPU to throttle.

Looking for new laptop to replace with similar use case.
1. Budget around RM3k
2. Ports: HDMI + at least 3 USB
3. GPU: don't need most recent, RTX3000 series is good enough. Anything above GTX960M is good enough lol
4. Must have 2 storage slots

General look around got some options / recommendation
1. Illegear Mach 15 - got recommended this by a sifu, but after looking at recent reviews with after sales issues, better avoid

2. ASUS TUF Gaming F15 - recommended by AI search. More inclined on this option.

3. Other AI reco: Acer Nitro 5, Lenovo LOQ15, HP Victus 15

Need help from sifus and other users to narrow down further
1. Which Asus TUF Gaming F15 model the best? As usual Asus like to have multiple variants of the same base model. Can get some info from various review websites but want to know experience from other users

2. Is there any better than TUF F15?

Out of the lot: the Lenovo LOQ (see Jarrod's Tech reviews), make sure to avoid the 15IAX9E model (this one specifically: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/LOQ/LOQ_15IAX9E )

Would like to get a new laptop for personal use. Main use of it is to design using PS, and using it for work purposes.

My workplace is using HP Victus 15, plan to get a personal one so not to mix with work laptop.
Any model or suggestion is open for it. Thanks

Budget? If you are not tied to Windows ecosystems there's the M series Macbooks for your consideration icon_idea.gif

Hi all,

My (bought in 2021) Acer Aspire 5's monitor is having sporadic discoloration problems so looks like I'd need a new laptop.

Brand = don't know much, staying with Acer should be ok? Thought this current one could last longer. *sigh*
Budget = 3K or below
Intended use = Mostly viewing youtube and other kinds of videos + websurfing, some light word processing. No gaming.
Processor = Intel or AMD, doesn't matter.
RAM = preferably 16MB, with Win11 OS.
HDD size = normal 512GB SSD will do. I don't store much in the laptop.

Thanks.

Are you OK with Macbooks? If you don't mind, the M2 Macbook Air 13 16/256 would arguably be the best of the lot:

Very powerful performance, fanless design, class leading displays, touchpads and speakers, and ties well to an iPhone icon_idea.gif

Not bad, but the single stick memory kinda ruins the whole package sweat.gif

Hi I’m looking to get a new laptop for business purpose, will be using mostly words, PowerPoint etc.

Is there any laptop recommendation that is both lightweight (approximately 1kg) and long battery life for less than 4k?

OmniBook 7 Aero? (slightly over your budget though) hmm.gif

Of course, the M3/M4 Air would be a far better choice of course, but you do need to deal with MacOS quirks (which some may not want) icon_idea.gif

Looking for a new laptop. Budget 3-4k
Prefer 16 inch.

Mainly for watching movies. Some Excel work. Wasting time on YouTube. Running moomoo and webull almost every night.

I was recommended ASUS Vivobook 16 (M1605 / A1605) with Ryzen 7 by some shop guy near my house. Claims that the panel is excellent for watching movies especially dark scenes.

Was wondering if it's good enuff for me. Thanks in advance.
