Hi Sifus! Kindly help me to recommend a suitable laptop with the usage & requirements as below:

1. Budget: Maximum RM3499
2. Usage: Coding, multitasking, browsing, no gaming.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc): 14" & less than 1.5kg, long battery life, DDR5 (SODIMM, not soldered) RAM is preferred.

I have been looking at Lenovo, Acer, Asus and also Dell but there's too many options at the moment and some are with U-series CPUs. Not sure if it's a good choice or the CPU speed would be slower later compared to the H/HS ones ๐Ÿ™

hi guys, my 7-yrs-old laptop went kaput yesterday. thinking to get new laptop for day to day usage - mostly web browsing and netflix/youtube... my previous laptop (ROG ASUS) has 8gb of RAM and i normally open like 15 tab simultenously without problem. does 8gb RAM still enough for future proof? i don't play game on laptop anymore.
had some quick survey, Asus vivobook 16 caught my attention. price around rm2.5k which is within my budget. any better model/brand for this price range?
and i find that all laptop nowadays come with only 512gb SSD. I feel that not enough for me (my previous have 128gb SSD + 1TB HDD). In term of cost, would it better if i upgrade on the spot or i buy seperate ssd online and go to the shop to install for me? but then i have to buy again original windows 11?

hi, just to update i finally purchased asus vivobook 16 a1605z last week. after using voucher from shopee i get it slightly below rm1.9k. 16" screen is so good that i can have better view when opening my excel sheet. having fingerprint scanner is good too. that what i think significantly different than my previous laptop. running more than 20 tabs also smooth... so far happy with it smile.gif

1. Budget: around rm4k
2. Usage: for Architectural Uni Student
3. Size: 14 or 15"
4. Must have the following:
- Ryzen 7000 or 8000 series (due to battery life & decent iGPU)
- Removable DIMMs
- 2x SSD Slots
- Ideally, not OLED screen

so far I found Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 6. Any other options?

If you need compatibility, then not ready for prime time yet. Printer, scanner, hardware driver issues...and some software won't work at all. But if you need the latest and greatest / flashiest, then perhaps.

do you have any other brand recommendations? I need reliability, no need flashiest. One I consider is Acer Aspire 5 which seems decent.

One thing I dislike is hinge problems on these new laptops.

Hi -

Iโ€™m planning to buy a laptop for my wife, sheโ€™ll be using this laptop just for casual browsing, help with our kids school task, netflix and do photobook. Budget is 3k.

Appreciate any recommendations - If the laptop has a display port through USB-C is better.

Fellow samaritan, any good recommendation for gaming laptop as below requirement?
Why laptop? I travel alot for work.

Budget +- RM5k
1080p should be good enough as I already have 7800XT PC for 1440p.
Maybe RTX 4060 or 4070?
Mostly playing Monster Hunter, Marvel Rivals, COD, that required online and good/high fps

Not sure to pick MSI, Lenovo or Asus? or any other better brand?
