Hello, I will be getting a mid-range gaming laptop, can know from others' experience if their Lenovo LOQ 15AHP9 laptop has been good so far? Does it have overheating issues in our climate?

Was eyeing for that Dell G15 5530 but the mentioned Lenovo has the better display perk that interests me around the same price range.

Hi~

Wanna seek some advice/opinion from other.

I plan to buy a laptop, just for basic day-to-day office/web browser. Here are my list

Budget = Below 2k

Windows Laptop
Lenovo Thinkpad (durable)

X1 Carbon/Yoga
i7 7th / 8th gen
16gb Ram
512gb storage
price below 2k (sometime cheaper)

Macbook (intel)

2019/2020 model year
i5 most probably
8/16gb ram
512gb storage
Price 2nd hand = below 2k
For Macbook, I plan to install bootcamp actually.

I kinda lean towards X1 series since I do want a windows laptop due to software availability but the only things I'm still considering Mac due to iCloud sync

YES, I wanna know if I can sync iCloud with Windows laptop (without frills) and NO, i do not plan to buy G-drive/One-Drive subscription since most of my data on iCloud.

which one is more worth it to buy?

1. Budget : <RM3k, can stretch abit if needed
2. Usage : for sister - watch youtube, microsoft office - nothing graphic intensive
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 13.3 to 14", touchscreen preferable, best battery life, the lower the better for weight. Would prefer amd as heard intel has instability issue

Why not wait for Lunar Lake? This should be the APU to go for if all you need is a low power GPU which does enough.

Otherwise just get a gaming laptop. Bought my son an Acer Predator Helios 16 (I think is last gen) for RM3299 (plus another RM120 tng after registering). 13500HX 8GB RAM RTX4050 500GB NVME. Still havent upgrade the ram yet.

1. Budget : Around Victus pricing 3.5k, sub 3k would be the best.
2. Usage : Office work, presentation, coding with light gaming (Playable setting, example GTA, Wukung). Most of the time will be stationary connected to monitor
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Best bang in bucks in terms of performance vs memory. Wiling to sacrifice display size, weight.

If really such low usage, try your luck at HP/Acer event. Sometimes they offered a few unit of laptop with Intel N100 for around RM1k. 4 e-core low power, can play youtube latest format AV1, and also equipped with 8 or 16gb ram.

Im using mini pc equipped with N100 at office. More than enough for most work.
