If I'm in your position, I'll likely drop the MX450 for some additional RM200+ savings, which is sufficient to upgrade the RAM to 16GB + take the Free Office Home&Student + upgrade the palm rest to the metal one (RM60 base price).

Nonetheless, it's all for the 100% sRGB display, hopefully it's worth it. There's no harm going MX450 either (though I'm surprised to see the system didn't auto force upgrade to 95W charger for you, which is typical for i5+discrete GPU configuration since 2010s).

I was actually considering between that too. Either 16GB RAM with UHD or 8GB RAM with MX450, the price difference is only RM30. But as the 16GB is only single and my experience with my office HP laptop with iGPU is not so good, so went with the MX450. I can get fickle minded, so I quickly ordered.

I will probably regret I didn't upgrade the palm rest some time in the future. Hmm, I didn't give the charger thing any thoughts. Just realize it is only +RM30.

Lenovo actually can allow for cancellation if you do it quickly, so go tell the CS you wish to reconfigure it and ask for their help to cancel so you can reorder. notworthy.gif

16GB with UHD will be safer choice computing wise, as most often a PC/phone/system is considered obsolete when the RAM become insufficient and severe lagging kicked in.

The MX450 isn't particularly game breaking vs the G7 Xe iGPU; what you can do with MX450, G7 likely can do too be it slightly weaker/slower; what you can't do with G7, MX450 likely can't make a different either.

Sorry I didn't capture the full message before this when you talking about the 8GB and 16GB single channel.

Actually from the PSREF, 8GB and 16GB both will be dual channel memory. But they're all soldered and non-expendable aftermart, so you probably want to upsize them as much as you can afford.

And ya, RM60 to upgrade the PC from ABS to aluminium is worth it IMO, better finished and structural integrity.

Charger upgrade for RM35 can skip or take, since aftermart 80+W charger can be quite expensive, so it's kind of worth to get the 95W one for just slight price premium.

Now I try to select the 18GB option and get this error. Wil try to speak to a CS later.
Oh dear … something’s not right. Please call us to complete your order. We’re really sorry for the inconvenience.

But the iGPU is not the Iris Xe, only UHD Graphics.

It's i5 G7 (G denote for graphic level), then it's Xe with 80CU

Okay, am chatting with the agent who helped me with the order earlier. Let's see. And thanks for the input.

Btw, can you share the link for this image?

My main point is, 16GB RAM is likely more vital than the MX450.

If you can't have both, then pick 16GB RAM and drop the MX450 (which likely give additional saving somemore).

As it is Iris, then I would go with 16GB too. The agent said the coupon is expired so that is why error message. So funny all this codes.

Which code you're using just now?

What I tried, THANKYOU is the lowest I can get, though it isn't by a huge margin vs other code like BUYNOW.

Lenovo have some protection mechanism to avoid the configured system going too cheap with some code, during configuring it will prompt "below base price", that mean you aren't allowed to check out as such.

Normally I'll configure per normal as what I want then check the code and price upon the cart there.

Now using DOORBUSTER able to get it to RM3073 with the palm rest and charger. Previous order used SAVENOW able to get a bigger discount.

Here's my THANKYOU configuration, DOORBUSTER for some reason not allowed to use, likely cause fall below base price again.

CS said need to put in a cancel request, take between 1-3 working days. And there is a chance that the model may be gone or price change as weekend starts, add another 2 days. Only way is to take risk and place another order laugh.gif Pening haha

Don't let them hold you ransom, tell them clearly that you realise 8GB isn't sufficient for you and you're cancelling or returning it be it what pattern they play. Worst come to worst, there's still other brand/place to grab a laptop. Those Huawei/Xiaomi/Realme lappies are pretty decent in that price range too.

If they still want sale, then do help to make the cancellation smoother and you can grab the desirable model quicker. bruce.gif

Decided to put in a cancellation request and order a new one. Will work this out. I should actually realize this at the beginning because I been looking at the psref file too, but just too rookie to identify it.

Hi,

Is there any laptop model with specification as per below with budget between RM3000 - 3600

CPU : Preferably i5 11th Gen or equivalent
RAM 16GB
STORAGE : 512GB Preferably fast speed
SCREEN : 14 Inch

My current laptop is Acer Aspire E14 weight about 2.1kg, so I prefer laptop less than 1.8kg weight.
I'm going to use this laptop for office work using software like Microsoft office, lighting simulation software DIALUX, power system simulation software SKM, ETAP.
Which is better to use Ryzen or Intel processor ?

Any comments on the new ionic 15 with Ryzen 7 5700U? Is the price worth it? Mainly for slight photo/video editing, web surfing, office work and movies.

Don't mind the waiting time as my Legion Y530 still working fine

Thanks
