guys.... just a question,

is my ST56F strider 560watt able to support 8800gts 640mb stable?

a friend of mine say it can't, ask me to change to 800watt PSU
*
Can. I'm using my 8800 GTS with my enermax liberty 500w without any problems.

The recommendation is a 400w PSU (preferably the true power type) with at least a total of 26A on the 12-v rails...... smile.gif

oh how bout the cheap CM 430w Realpower?????

can it support C2D E6750, 4x 1gb DDR2, 8800GTS 640mb, 2x SATA2 HDD, 1x IDE ROM, 1x SATA-ROM, 4x LED 80mm Fan, 5x USB

else wat cheap + nice + just okay for the above spec??

Added on September 18, 2007, 8:17 amadd-on....... above spec @ OC configuration with stock air cooling..
*
Yeah, like what akachester said, it might be at the limit of your PSU.

The 400w is the minimum requirement. Even with that, it is advisable to get a higher watt PSU with true power, tough power or extreme power or whatever the name is. I'm not too sure whether the "Real power" is the better PSU........

ohhhh.... i guess wat i mean is extreme power... hahaha.... so wat PSU is recommended??? brand and watt... for the rig i stated before.... no need to powerful la... just quite ok for the rig only.... coz getting so powerful also no use coz waste of money i feel...
*
A lot of forumers are recommending the silverstone strider ST56F (I think that is the model). Seems to be a reliable brand/PSU.

Maybe you can ask in the Choosing PSU in hardware Q&A.... smile.gif

I just bought a 2nd hand 7800GT with stock speed at 400/1000. smile.gif
Is it normal to get 3198 in 3dmarks06 (default settings) with my comp specs and the GC? notworthy.gif
Btw, all at stock speed, no ocing at all for any of my comp hardware. smile.gif

Thanks.
*
You have to know that 3Dmark06 is also CPU dependent.

On my previous 7600GT running at stock, I got a score of 3415.
SM 2.0 - 1317
HDR/SM3.0 - 1193
CPU - 2746

how bout for 19" inch wide monitor?? and quite massive in gaming....... 320mb stil able to stand out for games nowadays but i feel not enuf for near future game anymore........ 320mb vs 640mb price about rm300 right??? so basically RM1 for 1mb increase....
*
Yeah. There are already a few games that take advantage of 512mb of ram e.g. quake 4, COD2 and doom3....

QUOTE(vincentlaw @ Sep 26 2007, 06:31 AM)

the game somehow makes me feel very very dizzy when playing in..... maybe the gameplay and fancy graphic is the reason......
is there anyway to increase the frequency of the game??? default 60? or follow desktop frequency. maybe it might help..
*
There's a dedicated thread in the gaming section, I think. It is apparently the field of view that is causing the problems, according to the people in that thread. I don't think changing the frequency to 75mhz will help.

However, you can easily set the frequency in the setup section wat....

i scared to change to 75hz d... coz when im using x800GT last time.. i chnage to 75hz and end up crash... restart come... ATI driver crash... cant uninstall.. and cant install.... damn... even used the driver cleaner pro + driver sweeper alsoo cant... even edit registry.... everythg cant..... end up repairing windows(reinstall)....hahah takes me whole day just to fix 1 stupid driver.... ATI SUX!!!
*
Hmm.... I wonder why? I thought the screen will return back to initial setting after like 15 seconds. You know, the one when the seconds count down until zero and if you do not click "OK", it will reset back to original settings?

For my rig, no problems switching from 60 to 75mhz or vice versa.

Anyway, like I've said, for the LCD, it is probably not due to refresh rates. Not like the CRTS where you get flickering at 60mhz....

As far as I know, he's a good bulker. And already completed V2. However, like any bulks, there is no guarantee when you'll get the product. nod.gif

doh.gif shakehead.gif, LCD where got refresh rate to set la...
*
Haha, my time to correct you. LCD can be set to either 60Hz or 75Hz although at that high resolution (i.e. 1600x1200), I think it is limited to 60mhz....errr 60hz only. Don't have a LCD that can go 1600x1200 so I'm not too sure about that..... smile.gif

well... at the moment, i'm on 21" CRT, 1600x1200 @85Hz, the funny thing, i'm not sure why though, on ATi, i can use 100Hz on same monitor, same resolution, not with nVIDIA...
*
Probably because that particular nVidia card doesn't support that high frequency.... hmm.gif

QUOTE(vincentlaw @ Oct 11 2007, 05:29 PM)
hey guys... i really confuse with 8800gts ..... 320mb and 640mb....... this 2 card have a different of about rm400 in value..... just feel paying rm400 more just for 320mb extra memory and no diff in other specification is just not worth it so much...

so i was wondering is 8800gts 320mb izzit enuf for new dx10 gaming? the 320mb will bottleneck the whole system by ALOT???

with system spec as in my signature.... need professional advise here.... if possible pls show me some review about this...

and about PSU.... which i shud get as im trying to find a budget + good enuf for my rig with 8800gts..... modular or partial modular is prefered...

Yeah, you can read more about the 8800GT in the Nvidia 8 series thread. Hyde`fk posted a lot of news on this card..... Looks like the 8800GT would be quite a good card..... wink.gif
