QUOTE(ameerfirdaus @ Nov 26 2007, 11:00 PM) guys, can i have 7900 or 7950 in my pc when my max output for psu is 450w? if true power 450watt i think it's ok. just tested with my 7900gs (600/1600) and 7900gtx on powerlogic psu 300watt 'true power' and they works fine, even during playing game, no sudden shutdown or whatsoever:clap:Added on November 29, 2007, 6:20 pmBUMP!! QUOTE(Fyrekat @ Nov 30 2007, 02:15 PM) That's what I'm trying to find out now, whether 70 degrees should be stable. I don't mind it going that high as long as it works fine and from what I've read elsewhere it shouldn't be an issue. If it affects other components then I know my problem is elsewhere. i'm using the same card, idle is 63 C, load 75 C, temp almost same like shinjun, but i didn't suffer any shut down during gaming. i changed the cooler already, now idle 45 load 58- 60C Perhaps I really should claim warranty... but I'll update the driver first and monitor again la! Maybe it's a combination of driver and game, who knows? Thanks! Added on December 1, 2007, 12:57 am OK, it seems 169.02 is for the 8800GT so I'm looking at the wrong driver. Galaxy has only released up to 163.71 for their 7 series cards, even though the latest one from Nvidia is 163.75 released on 6 Nov. I've tried that and it makes my card's performance worse so I'm sticking to the one released by Galaxy for now. Hopefully they'll have an update soon. So it appears that at this time I do have the latest drivers for my particular card. I guess the only way for me to find out whether this is actually due to the GPU or due to Hellgate is to install and play something else to stress the card, right? |

QUOTE(Fyrekat @ Dec 7 2007, 05:20 PM) Ok, update on what's been happening. It's not my 7900GS! I got a different card from my friend and plugged it in, and the problem still occurs! waiting for the diagnosis, good luck bro I still think it's most likely a heat problem as it's more prevalent when I close my casing cover. I recently put in a new sound card as well but that's not the source coz we took it out and the problem still happens. So, if it's not the GPU or CPU or sound, perhaps it's the power supply or motherboard... we're going to swap out the power supply and put in something else and then test it tonight to see what happens. |

QUOTE(Afro100 @ Dec 25 2007, 04:29 PM) I'm planning to buy a 7300gt agp gfx (any brand)card for my very old pc, the question is, does the agp version require molex connector plugged into the card? and is it backward compatible with agp 4x? 7300gt agp version requires molex and it's compatible with old mobo with agp 4x |
