I love this. I wonder how much heat can the device handle. I will wait for the improved generation if any.

Steam now very strict with VPN. Was planning to reserve Steam Deck but unable to proceed since they detect VPN connection.

Anyone can share other methods to reserved Steam Deck from Steam US?

Apparently it’s really good deal. Cheaper than PC and Gaming laptop.

yeah, on paper...even to take on high spec variant

now only needs to do well in practical usage

if can play dota 10 hours straight with this device with relatively low chances of shortening its lifespan

then steam deck would be my choice (PC too bulky while i'd prefer to buy m1 macbook air instead of gaming laptop)

The price is already released wor. Don't think it's overpriced especially for those who want portability, don't have a PC Gaming Rig, and gaming laptops are too pricey these days anyways. I think the Steam Deck is very much well-priced to target these markets. For those with Gaming PC, Steam Deck is just something additional lah. But for those who don't and want to play PC games hassle-free without paying hefty prices for a Gaming laptop, this Steam Deck is amazing.

Anyone wishing to buy a steam deck or run steam games under linux should visit the following link. It lists out the compatibility of games running using Proton the tool that steam uses to run games under linux and the steam deck.

Valve confirmed this through a Steam Deck booklet introducing the console, Valve, and Steam to new markets across Asia. The booklet dives deep into certain tidbits of information, such as the fact that SteamOS will be getting a generic installer so that anyone can install the latest SteamOS available from the Steam Deck on their PC.

Just sharing a game that I'm working on tested by a Youtuber. What a surprise that it works fine out of the box.

Too bad we still can't get our hands on the actual device.
