Today i did saw a potential gen2 facelifted and the new BLM on the roads, and if u asked me, i think the BLM (black prototype) will sell coz it doesnt look that bad!

Also in the petronas station near my house, i saw proton i care opening a small booth for car servicing and the response is good. From what i see now, it is a huge sigh of improvement from proton on commiting after sales to their customers! Told ya Syed Zainal can bring proton up!

Ops back to ur persona talk tongue.gif

Tok cock only. Called Proton-I-don't-really-care to let them know my complains for 1st service 3 days before i go to SC and they promised will inform SC and follow up closely yadda yadda. When come to SC, SC say no such thing received from HQ(this is a big branch, not dealer), then SC advisor continue to give me grandma story about using semi-synth oil/full synth oil will cause my engine to have noise and void warranty yadda yadda.

E-mailed to Proton-I-don't-know-what-u-talking-about regarding their expert SC advisor and no reply yet from them.

Ho hum.
*
Hmm, these SC always come with alot of problems. Honestly i dont really bother with warranties these days. Its easily voided and sometimes these SC will give alot of reason just to not giving u warranty. I only go for warranty if there a major part change which may make my car immobile. Other than that, i stick with aftermarket. wink.gif

halo...engine and gearbox only?.....lor....so those gear oil engine oil or so u call it as wear and tear parts must pay as per service la?.
*
Well i felt its more realistic for warranties for the engine, gearbox, power window and etc as those parts are very expensive to replace. If they include wear n tear parts (air filter, spark plugs), of coz its not realistic as this will bankrupt the company even faster. sweat.gif

The gen2 was the brainchild of the former CEO Tengku Mahaleel (as u all know, his the main reason why proton screwed up as well doh.gif ) and the car was designed according to his taste and decision, hoping that the buyers will follow his choice. It was a huge mistake as he did not bother customer's feedback and that resulting to one of the main reasons why the gen2 failed.

To make matters worse, the gen2, supposely a wira replacement, did not replaced the gen2 as they felt the wira should be continued as that is one of the proton models which is selling well still (of coz, coz there no replacement yet doh.gif )

However under the new MD, Syed Zainal, and management, the persona is designed based on the gen2 owners feedback and customer feedback as well. The MD, being a customer priority person back in the days in perodua, has resulted the persona the car finally malaysians wanted for.

hi all i'm new here.. i want to know which car is better choice?? a new myvi or persona, or used japanese car? but i have no confident with proton, my family n my friend adviced not to buy proton due to their poor quality. my brother waja n my friend new saga all got problem.. how bout persona? is there any major problem?
*
Cant really say how the new persona will perform in terms of quality as a time frame is needed to judge on it. Anyway if u dont mind waiting for a car for months, the persona is worth the wait. If not, u might to settle for the myvi.

QUOTE(dzariq @ Sep 16 2007, 07:13 PM)

But i felt rear disc brakes on an non ABS car has an limitation that once all the 4 disc brakes were locked u are as good as dead. That why at least the rear drum brakes will be ur last defence as drum brakes wont lock in even of emergency braking and the front disc brakes were locked.
Correct me if i am wrong. sweat.gif

i'm just booking hl persona last night and pay booking fees at batu cave showroom...
the sa told me can get car fast if don select colour.
still decide...
and i will trade in my old wira for it
the sa tell me i can trade in the car when the new persona arrived,so then i can still drive my lovely wira for some moment...
just abit confuse...
cause before that i had ask at another showroom, they want me trade in the car before apply loan.
Cause i want to trade in the wira to be the downpayment of the car.
so that they told me they need to know how much to apply the loan.
And that will make me short of transportation while the long waitting period of persona.
, then now yesterday another sa told me loan can apply first for approval but the amount can change de at after.
izit correct...?
hehe first time buy car myself...no knowledge

And congrate to all the guys/gals that get urs persona alr!!!
So jealous jealous... rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

U might want to double check with the SA on how much is the trade in value of the wira before determining how much u can take for loan. Well unless i u want the HL version, the rest should have a faster delivery time.

I think instead of relying on the l/100km, i felt its more accurate to calculate by urself. Take a trip to the petrol station, pump it full, than travel for a few hundred kms until the next petrol station then fill until the pump stops. Calculate it by mileage/fuel pumped (km/litter)

QUOTE(BudoKid2002 @ Oct 8 2007, 11:19 AM)
hi all another testimony from me. just for sharing.
my wifes car is baseline auto.
just change metal rim to gen2 sport rim. i really must say theres a difference between rim besi and alloy in ride feel. i know, it could be psychological thing but fact it is lighter, softer on bumps and holes (or maybe air pressure been reduced? dunno) but overall im happy with it.
im using the gen2 bunga raya rim type. alot of people ask me why i pick this rim. answer is simple, standard, cheap, better than rim besi.
the tyres i got is goodyear nct. yes, i like it but the only drawback like somebody said is when do a slow cornering or u-turn, got sound a bit.

talk about u turn, road near my house requires me to do quiet narrow u-turn, so everyday i will take that uturn. but till today i still can get a perfect u turn without reversing). i can do it with other car, even merc can do 1 perfect turn. but merc, of course la, point is most car can do it. if they take 1 side a bit before turning.
moving on, the rear view mirrow. from reading the manual now i know that handle flip is meant for anti light glare during night. move it towards you to have anti glare, move back for normal daylight. i also notice the mirror reflection is blur intermittently due to vibration. later i found out, my radio is too loud, and the bass is causing that slight vibration. hahaha.
steering, like most people complain say its too plastic and hard. i think its decent enough by European standard for normal basic cars. my previous renault steering is also having similar material.
seats? the seats are great arent they? not too hard like waja, and not too soft as you want to use it for 10 years. baseline dont have adjustable height driver seats, and folding rear seats. but i figured, less is more. besides, its comfortable enough, ive had height adjustable seats before, and it breaks in 5-7 years.
hmm, what else, bought hp travel charger, plug it in and its working. great.
after nearly a week driving, still not used to parking especially rear. side mirror is too small, yes.
about the engine, now i know its a rev happy engine. couple with that tranny, i find it hard to keep myself from not speeding on highway. the extreme hot hood is gone, the burnt smell is gone, my aircond is set to middle, which is 25c i think, does not ON the fan and compressor quite often now. i find the temperature is cold enough for front and back passanger, with tinting of course. for fast cooling effect, during initial startup, i use recycle and top air direction.
the boot? yes the boot. it can fit four 15 inch metal rims, FLAT without stacking. marvelous.
the sound for remote locking is classy and exclusive (i hope). unlike the one in waja you have this irritating "chuut!-chuut!" sound. the alarm itself is horn based which can be pretty loud and embarrassing but isnt all alarm is?
the brakes, like i said before its a bit soft. but yesterday i had to do some emergency braking during high speed. not till stationary but i had to apply brake hard. and its comforting to know that it is good. the more importing thing is, i have good level of control on the car when braking. even though its not rear disc, abs and ebd, its still manageable. those who need abs and ebd is either a lady or Micheal Schumacher i think.
overall, general satisfaction is high for this car. its really value for money. and its simply the best car i can get with that price tag. i just want to tell everybody how great this car is. and actually, i feel kinda sorry for those who bought myvi. i just cant imagine how its like doing corners on long journey with that car. and the interior build quality is nothing to shout about. maybe the engine is good.
i also feel lucky my wife didnt buy city or vios. yes, FC is good but my goodness the body shell?? its nearly twice the price and i simply think its not worth it. those who bought city/vios must be thinking they are getting civic/altis or maybe camry. yes when comparing to persona, off course civic/altis/camry win hands down. but when compare to city/vios along with price factor, it is way sensible buy.

lastly, congratulation to everybody.
*
I have to agree on this. The persona is a much better value for money to buy compared to the vios or city for a good bread n butter small saloon and a plus point for those who loved fun driving rather than the full vios n city. smile.gif

As what soulfly says, the persona is designed for comfort driving, but pretty soon alot of aftermarket lowered springs will come. Consider add those but be advised u going to sacrifice ride comfort for that.

yeah.. ive givenup with autowor** when i found out its full with foreign make salesman, and automotive industry managers. most of them from opposition party too. too much time on their hand coz expat boss is not around.
there are chinese and indian in proton as top engineers and designers, and suppliers, and vendors - a true malaysian company. but still they bash because its malaysian. so who said only malay suka badmouth, jatuhkan orang and spread rumors? this type of people tidak terhad pada sesuatu kaum. the type yang bakal menjatuhkan negara.

Added on November 1, 2007, 3:48 pmtoday in newspaper, japan fighter jet also crash while take off. so what? quality issue?

Speaking of autowor**, it has been degraded ever since, no thanks to lots of anti gov/racist/jokers forumers, and no1 joker peyno is one of them. Just be comfortable over here, and who knows u guys will make ur own persona forum smile.gif If there any jokers appear here just dont forget to press the "report" button. It works smile.gif

Another worthy forum is motortrader mysia.
