maybe they expect bookings but not this kind of volume ?

QUOTE(spana @ Sep 24 2007, 09:03 AM)
as far the fuel consumption, my ML persona still shows 7.6L/100km. my observation is that if u maintain normal cruising speed of 90 or 100 km per hour...then the FC will be around 7.6. But bear in mind this is not city driving as i'm staying around airport area...so no traffic jam. And another thing, if u want the FC to maintain at 7.6L....stop running the engine while the car is idle or parked somewhere. my car FC shoot up very fast when idle and so far the highest it goes is around 8.3L/100km. But then...this is normal lah.....everyone knows this right.

initially...when i took delivery of the car it got 2 minor problems. first the left side rear seat cannot be folded. i believe the lock is jammed. Secodnly, the rear left door can't be closed properly...my mom complained a lot about this. u got to really slammed  the door only then it will closed and locked properly.

so... i took my car for the first 1000km service at proton service centre and got all these problems fixed. the rear seat now can be folded properly and the door has been adjusted so that it can be closed with minimal push.
*
congrats on your car...

bro, your milage is still low, that is why u can see a big jump in the meter reading when u are moving or when u are idling. once u hit 5k onwards, the meter reading should stabilise already......

it will be more "accurate" once u hit 10k

same for Auto transmission, drive like Manual..kickdown and upshift at redline..do it frequently..few or thousands of kilometres, check whether is it still alive...I am a spoilt Kid.. doh.gif

Cancelled plan to spray the black lining and side mirror as well as door handle because weather is rainy and cold, the guys at the centre said not good as will affect the paintjob quality. Even the price quoted also a bit on the expensive side, RM380. Might probably check some other place.

Driving experience is confortable. Good suspension, but I think the brake is a bit softer compare to my Civic (of course la, I'm using Integra brakes lol). I wouldn't really dare to do hard emergency brake. I mean, the brakes are good, but the pedal feel is a bit soft and I'm not accustomed to that. My Civic brakes are hard.

Engine noise is low. Aircond is very cold, like what everybody else claimed. Even when I put to the lowest, it's still considered cold.

So far ok lah. The feel of interior to me is nicer than Wira.

hi all.. congrats on the new car..
as you all can see, my posting are getting more and more ridiculous already..
i just don't know what to else to say.. but i does feels great to share our experience with our baby together. this should be my last post for the week as i'll be heading for kampung tomorrow.

the reverse sensor, yeah i notice it too.. the reverse sensor sound is too soft that i had to mute the radio.
1 week driving, parking still i cannot get it right. im totally blind when it comes to rear viewing and totally depend on the beeping sound and act like a jedi using 'the force'.
seatbelts, did you guys notice how fast the belts go when you release them? its like going after your face or the window glass! maybe its still new?
today i started doing aggressive driving.. to really test the car on the road.
steering - steering is relatively heavier for a new car. could it be tyres still new?
when going through bumps and holes, im happy with how it dampens and wheel absorb the impact, (probably all bushes still new). but im not fully impressed with how the car bounce.(comparing to 7 year old renault and waja). i felt like the bounce is a bit hard (kinda sporty) and not being kind to your kidney. my only explanation is because the seatings are pretty low.???
again on the FC, the best i can get is also 10.5l/100km as stated in the meter. im driving auto but still i want it to be lower. maybe im expecting too much from a heavy car. its fun playing with the FC meter as i can see an increase to 14l/100km when carrying full occupants.
but my own calculation give a bit different reading from fc meter. every rm10 can only get me 40-45km. when FC meter tells me i should get around 50km. maybe a couple more round will give me more accurate reading. i also notice my campro engine when warm idling rpm is 0.9 whereas mitsu waja (manual) is only 0.65 both with or without aircond. this can translate to higher fc. mine is auto can anybody tell me whats the reading for campro manual?
on the campro performance, i'd say its great once we get used to it. proton said theyve improve the TCU but sometimes i can still feel the tork dip present especially climbing uphill. i like to think of it like a turbo lag you know, once pass it, the car will scream and fly. people who said campro is not powerful simply dont know how to drive or 'buta hati' aka blind basher driving. when climbing uphil, if you feel the lag, dont layan the lag!. step on it a bit more till change to lower gear, problem solve! and no, high revving wont hurt a high rev engine.

other than that, i cant seem to find any defect with the car for me to complain.
*
steering felt "heavy" cuz due to the "point and feel" concept...
so that u have more feel of the road / pin point direction or something like that..

will rephrase once i remember
damn i cant find the correct words to put it

actually the newer proton cars like neo, gen2 and persona, their stock suspension is good enough already... a very good balance between stability, performance and comfort....

why upset the balance that has been made by the engineers? true u might get better ride with aftermarkets part but take into consideration other parts like bushing, etc might wear out faster with aftermarket parts. not to mention the comfort that will be sacrificed..

if u are talking about some other cars, yes u need after market parts to make the car more stable..

FC for the car depends on your right foot ler...

when u have a right foot heavier then king kong, how u expect to touch or be close to the manufaturer rated (example) 5.0L/100km ?

anyway just did my first 1k service...glad to tell u guys that they managed to fix the rattling left turn sound...all seem to be good now...only still got some slight rattle in the boot...no issues for me...

hopefully the FC will go down from now onwards...coz its just a bit too high right now...

let's just hope they don't shoehorn the gen.2 interior to the facelift waja to cut cost.
it isn't impossible as the waja/gen.2/persona share the same platform.
*
nope

waja is based on a volvo / mitsu (forgot liao) platform

gen2 and persona is different...
but gen2 dashboard can be plug and played into the neo...

thank goodness they dont
neo almost come out with a beige interior
