hello all. searching for note 10 plus (new set)
still worth it in 2021? price around 2k for 8GB + 256GB note 10 plus. currently using samsung a50
think will last 3 years?
tbf i have another samsung tablet that goes all the way from 2013 and it still worked (just change battery)

dun feel like spending another hundreds for a note 20 ultra for basically similar specs.
*
QUOTE(Stirmling @ Sep 11 2021, 12:37 PM)
well its just used for some drawing apps anyway
12GB+256GB set
true that
updated software would be nice and all but i guess it should last pretty long.
probably not gonna go for latest Samsung tho. its pretty overpriced on launch and when new ones come out the price just drops like that lol.
hence why i aim for previous flagship instead of current flagship. most of the phone tech are already perfected already nowadays.
im just gonna keep an eye out on some good sealed deals instead, or just wait till my current phone kong.
is 2k for a sealed SD 12+256GB note 10 plus good nowadays or a ripoff? hmm.gif
*
i upgraded from Note 4 to Note 10+, considered Note 9, 10+ and 20U, but bought Note 10+ in the end, due to Note 10+ is getting 3 years of software support, spec isn't losing to Note 20U at all, and the price is just right

i got mine last year during 9.9 sales at around RM 3k, funny enough just after 2 months, Note 10+ is available at RM 2099 on 11.11 mad.gif

hmm.. to me the difference between SD & Exynos on 10 series is minimal (if compared to 20 series), plus we have the benefits of having local warranty and a few more functions such as Samsung Pay & etc

something to do with charge to 100% then drain to 0% to calibrate accuracy of battery percentage reading right?

i don't quite understand the theory but only heard what need to be done

Maybe the phone relearning your usage pattern first

Give 3 days of observation first then only final review
*
after 2 weeks, i can confirm the battery drain A LOT faster than before

previously idle overnight drain 5%, now 7% or more

previously my SOT from 80% to 20% is around 5hr 45m, now 85% to 20% is less than 5hr 30m

the Android 12 One UI 4.0 update is such a disaster

1. the crazy battery drain
2. heat
3. my S Pen disconnected for no reason for the 1st time
4. after unlock screen, my home screen no matter where i touch also no response, except for the bottom 3 button, turn off and on back only back to normal

around the same price, vivo x80 pro had caught my attention, any samsung user with experience with vivo here?

QUOTE(lambox105 @ Jul 8 2022, 09:49 PM)
RM4K still a lot
Thats why i say must wait a few more months
*
i don't think s22 u will be available below 4k, a used unit is still going around 4.2~4.5k

take s21 u as example, i thought currently i can get a new set below 4k, but i couldn't see anyone is still selling new set currently, seems like no more stocks

weirdly, new set n20 u is still available currently, but still going around 3.5k

hope u dont snipe the wrong things hahaaha.

my note10+ zoom also not bad already. i was seeing some food menu from car too far away cant see.
use zoom 8x canread HAHAH

anyway u buying the new batch of colour?

i wait s23u hehe see better SD or not
*
nope, bought green, following my feng shui master's advise laugh.gif

few days using my S22U,
1. gets quite hot and battery drain fast when using camera, probably just slightly better than N10+ (Exynos)
2. camera's main lens is less friendly then N10+, outdoor focus is not easy, color is less attractive, always over exposed, only clearer & sharper but looks pixelated; but performs way better in indoor low light, and more bokeh
3. ultra wide lens is about the same as N10+, 3x tele & 10x super tele lens are great
4. battery drain during standby is very little compared to N10+

the free gift Galaxy Buds Live has excellent sound quality

overall, a little disappointed as I'm spending so much for it & expecting improvement in every aspect, but seems like some improved but some even worse doh.gif

my advise, wait for S23U, N10+ is still very good at nowadays standard, just the battery drain a little annoying ever since updated to Android 12
