Now seems like Sinovac supply / stock is low..

So Priority is for dos 2 people first...
(Because PPV that exclusively on Sinovac from start "suddenly" change to Pfizer This week....

So...
1st dos most likely Pfizer or AZ  now onwards tongue.gif
Second week August is exclusively Pfizer for everyone.. Unless got AZ supply that time...
*
another batch of sinovac coming mid July if not mistaken

I always thought that Pfizer needs to be kept at extremely low temperature.

How does these small clinic has the right equipment to store at the right temperature.

Makes me wonder how accurate are these.....
*
QUOTE(cringe @ Jul 14 2021, 12:34 PM)
Yes, I also wonder on this.

Some people that received vaccine at snall clinic, usually they get Sinovac.

But depends I guess. My bro in law didnt expect will get Pfizer at this clinic

QUOTE
Before mixing, the vaccine may be stored in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F and 46°F) for up to 1 month (31 days)

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/info-...age-summary.pdf

i think the very low temperature part is only important during transportation phase

I still couldn't wrap my head around - why the type of vaccines matter so much to a lot of people? at the end of the day it's the protection that counts.

Adverse effect is something to be taken into account - but I think Malaysia has not seen  any death as a result of administering the vaccines
*
i think its less about side effects (the side effects argument is mostly towards AZ).... more towards the recent news of sinovac being less effective against newer variants reported from Thailand and Indonesia

Who knows in the future they might require us to take a 3rd shot or even take another shot of a different vaccine due to this. Might as well get it right from the beginning....

The shelf life will start to deteriorate once the vaccines  are been placed in a temperature and humidity that is outside of the operating temperature.

If for example the vaccines are being placed in room temperature condition - then they have to be used within a couple of hours
*
yeah but I believe most clinic should have a suitable refrigerator for proper storage up to 30 days. as long people are coming in for shots everyday it shouldn't be a problem and no vaccine will go to waste

Sinovac stocks at the moment in most PPV's are the last batch. Full 14m doses already almost to the end of delivery. Hence remaining stocks reserve for 2nd dose. Now on can expect Pfizer for those going 1st dose.
*
this is unlikely now

But we can assume that other states will also follow especially as their Sinovac stocks deplete faster like Klang Valley. They are finishing up what Sinovac they have at the centers today, not restocking once finished as based on the article then moving forward with Pfizer etc. They have not named a specific date yet ofc but it is logical.
*
Dont assume. Government never explicitly said other states will start using Pfizer only from 18th. They are saying they will gradually start switching to Pfizer once Sinovac supplies are depleted, and this depends on the PPV

no one promised anything

only Kelantan was supposed to have Pfizer only starting today. Some people took that news out of context and assume the whole Msia will follow... that's how rumours spread

Khairy didnt pusing lah

only Kelantan will switch over to Pfizer today.... but many people somehow misintepret the news and assume the whole country will follow suit

there's no specific deadline to switchover to Pfizer, it depends on the Sinovac supply for each PPV

Mines..still sinovac.  Should have waited till walk in open in aug...too bad, I took sinovac.

Not like its all bad

The only cons is unknown efficacy towards mutated or new strain like delta, which studies on going show possibly can be rectified with a booster shot of AZ or Pfizer
